Today's AMPS 414 was a little disappointing, I was hoping we'd stop seeing RED numbers today. No such luck, but like Scarlet said, "Tomorrow is another day." Anyway, I fell asleep before last night's +6 measurement, but I got it at the +5 mark last night and it was 95. I still don't like those deltas, but at least it makes me feel like he's not sitting at 414 all the live long day. I will get a BG curve on Saturday and hopefully that will give more info on what to do.

Cheers,
Allie and Steve

Hi Allie,

Yes, the curve will help you figure out this puzzle - if the PZI is petering out way before the 12 hour mark, you can adjust for that. Are you feeding small meals day and night? That could also help with the high numbers. And of course, it can be that Steve is a slow acting guy and just needs some time to get used to the insulin. Patience. If you were getting those high numbers overall, we would be a little worried. The nadir numbers show it works - you just have to figure out how to work it!

Thank you Allie for posting this way (subject title) I was surprised this morning to see a few of these...it is so helpful to following the story!

Re: 1/26 Steve AMPS 414

Funny how he starts so high but can still drop into the greens. I'm interested to see his curve this weekend. Hopefully it'll help you figure him out.

Once again Steve is in the mid300s for his PMPS BG. He's relaxing and happy. I'm gonna try to get a mini curve again tonight. I know +6 is an important #, but anyone have suggestions by looking at the SS which other times to concentrate on? No promises I'll get any of them, but I just had cup of coffee so maybe I will stay awake a bit later tonight.

Do you think it is strange that I can't wait till the weekend so I can get a good curve? I can just see myself bragging at work on Monday when they ask me what I did this weekend. :-D

Maybe 4,6,8- something like that? That should catch at his lowest and what leads up to it and how soon he heads up after. But, whatever you manage to get will add to the picture.

I'm not surprised  It's like a puzzle we want to solve.

Early on, I used to wake up periodically through the night and my first thought was testing. It's natural to want to know what's going on with our babies.

Personally, I like +3, +6, +9 for a mini-curve, but any numbers you can get are helpful.
