Happy Caturday!
Shasta let me sleep without any interruptions!! We did do a little playing before bedtime...well, it was more like, I played while she laid there and swiped her claws at the bird and my hand! When my alarm did go off, I got a few snooze snuggles and purrs. She's enjoying her breffis right now. Appy seems good.
Today is the All-County Chorus dress rehearsal and concert, so I will be gone most of the day...just like a work day. Shasta's numbers are relatively high for her, so I guess I won't be stressed today!
From last night's post: I was about 20 minutes late getting home last night. When I got home, my garbage can was in the middle of my driveway and with a note under it. After I parked, I went to see what the note was about and noticed that there was a very large bird sitting on the horse fence about 20 feet away from me. The note was from a passerby, asking me to help the injured pelican! So, I called my land-lady/neighbor/horse owner to ask what she wanted to do about Mr. Pelican. When she got home, we walked over to survey him...he's alive (at least for the moment), but definitely not feeling well. When Sue got close enough to him, he snapped his bill at her a few times to chase her away, but did not physically chase her away. We're hoping that he can withstand a night from possible predators (esp. coyote). Sue tried calling Animal Rescue/Control, etc...but at 6:30pm on a Friday night...not too many responses. Poor thing.
Small update on Mr. Pelican: he's still on the fence. Coyotes stayed away last night! Sue will figure out what to do with him/ who to call to help him, today.
Blessings on a spectacular Caturday!
