Wow - It has been 1 year since Rosie was diagnosed!

On the one hand, I'm happy. She is doing well. She has her own version of the 5 P's and they seem to be OK for her. On the other hand, I'm disappointed I haven't been able to get her into remission. We started this journey with a bit of a false sense of ease - she saw green numbers immediately. For the first couple of months, I was obsessed with getting more and more green. I cried when I saw the first pink number! Then her other health problems started - constipation, arthritis, and now CKD. These have been so much harder for me to manage because I don't have the quantitative data from my meter.

I wish I had a meter for kidney values. I wish I had something more scientific than my own "score" for her litter box performance. More than anything I wish she could tell me how she feels after a year of being on this journey.

Happy Member Anniversary! I am sorry you didn't get the result you wanted but I am happy the Rosie is getting the support she needs.

I think all the cuddles and head bumps are your answer. It is harder on us then them I think. I will be in a total knot waiting to see if Jones will eat and he is like....meh. Where is a lap I can cuddle in.

Patience is in order, it took Ms China 5 years I think to hit remission. Our first diabetic kitty, Ratty, was on insulin 12 years, hit remission for about a year before he passed. Good luck and paws crossed :cat:.
