Needless to say, we're not shooting that number. I'll recheck in an hour.

On another note, DH has successfully tested a few times and is doing well giving the shots. Still a little worried about leaving him alone to take care of Sam, but he's got the vet tech on speed dial.

Just tested again, he was at 200, so I shot .3. I'll test again in 2 hours to see where that puts us.

+2 (+4 on the SS) is 149, so I'll be watching him closely today. Not really worried about hypo, just want to be safe, you know?

His +4 (+6 on SS) was 57, so I gave him some higher carb food (7% instead of under 6%) and will retest him in a bit. He seems like he's feeling fine, though, so I'm not worried.

An hour after the slightly higher carb food and he's at 135. That cat is SO carb sensitive!

Yeah, he is, and what great information for you to have. So next time he hits the high 50s, maybe just a little of his regular lower carb first to see if it will bring him up?
 
Seriously? His +7 is 421. 421! Oy. I just don't get it. I do expect his PMPS to come down from that number though. We'll see if I'm right.

that is one heck of a zoom. i can't believe that upping the carb count by 1% did that!!!!
do you think it is possibly rebound. there's a lot of action going on. he was 400 last night..94 this morning...400 at +7. i don't think they like to bounce around that much. just as likely a rebound as a carb thing.
i could see if you gave him some 18% high carb gravy or a dash of karo...but 7%?
 
I gave him FF Flaked Trout. According to the J&B old canned food chart, it's 7% unless someone knows differently? I really don't know. Sam is just bound and determined not to be predictable. Did I mention I leave Thursday afternoon and he'll be in DH's hands? (Who is already nervous about this, I can assure you.) My entire weekend is going to be spent watching my phone. I'm sure right at 9am as I'm standing at the podium about to speak, I'll get a text asking what to do... Is there a head-slapping smilie? I need that one.
 
maybe we should make his acquaintance now...before you leave?
 
Problem is, he's already on a business trip. We're like two ships passing in the night. I won't see him again until I get back on Sunday. He has all the info for this site, knows I'm on here as KristenP&Sam and that some of you will know me. Maybe I should make him an account.
 
no kristen..let him come on your account so we will easily recoginize it's sam and your hubby.
he can access it to meet us from where he is..i think you can be on board together. he should be in continual contact with us and not feel funny asking us anything. we've dealt with dh's before. i think it's fantastic when the 'dad' comes on.
 
I get that, I just meant if we were both logged in as me at the same time. Anyway, no worries, I sent him my info and explained it to him.
