Numbers are good - much better than 500s like a couple of days ago.

Questions:
1. How often does everyone test? (currently testing approx 5 times a day)

2. How often does everyone weigh their sugar kitty?

The absolute minimum of testing is before giving a shot of insulin. After that, getting at least one test in the middle of the day around what you think is Rex's nadir, each cycle, would be good.
I can not test in the middle of the day, when I work, so I set alarms to test in the middle of the night, so I know how J.D.'s dose is working on him.
If you're not home during the week, I would get as many tests during the night as you can, and try to do a curve during the day on your day off. Whenever you can get a +2 after a shot (that's about the onset time for Lantus), that will help you to know how the current might(they're cats) play out.

I try to weigh J.D. about once a week.

I test Moonie at least 4X a day, at amps & pmps, and at +3 as that is when insulin takes effect for Moonie--
I usually like to get a +5 ( her nadir), but lately I have been busy, but I still try.
Do the best you can, I think you are doing a great job!
If you see him dropping, try to get another test & if needed control the drop with food(LC,MC or HC).

I lost our scale in the Hurricane, so I cant weigh her, but I did it around every month when she was well.

We test Trix about 6 times a day on average...AMPS/PMPS, +2-ish, and +4ish. If she's running low, we test way more than that. If she's running high, I sometimes give her a break and skip a test.

I have to admit, we don't weigh Trix...probably should, because she has gotten a little, um, "fluffy", lately...

I don't weigh Gabby. She's a diva and there's only a certain amount of "stuff" she'll put up with.

Testing depends to a large extent on your cat and you. I'm a testaholic -- I like data. I also have a cat who's prone to early, fast dives. I test at pre-shot, +1, +2, +3 and at +4 in the evenings. I get more tests if numbers are low or dropping.

Thanks for taking our survey.

I thought I was over testing at 4 times a day. But will continue to test prior to feeding.

I will try to get a weight out of my lil boy.
