Hmm... up at 6AM. Done with spot checking until AMPS time (11:30) though. Just thought I'd share a pic. This is his "I'm just soooooo hungry" face... 10 mins after his last snack... ohmygod_smile

He rebounded again yesterday after his nice blue drop... gaaah!!! Will this ever end? :-x
 
Hi & Welcome to LL if I havent said it before--Scooter is doing just fine & had a great day yesterday--
It is Normal to have a bounce after lower numbers the following cycle--We just get used to it..It is the liver getting panicky with the lower BG's & it spills glucose into the bloodstream as a protective response. Most cats get through a bounce or rebound within 72 hrs-It;s a natural response.
As he is a Newbie, this is not unusal for high to have some high numbers--
I see you say he has some bad teeth--We usually recommend having a dental, or at least evaluation at next vet visit, as bad teeth will surely raise the BG's-
Hope you have transitioned him to low carb wet food --that will help immensely-

Yes... thank you, forgot to link my last post. I know why he's rebounding, I just wish it would stop soon. :razz: Yes he's on LC canned. I can't afford the dental right now, I'm an unemployed college kid living off family maintenance payments so I just can't right now. My credit card is still hurting from Scooter's diagnosis vet visit. DCIN will hopefully be helping me fund raise eventually, they have a lot of cats in line right now.
 
Just a thought, but would Scooter let you brush his teeth? It may not correct a current problem but it may help to delay any dental work in the future.
 
I was suggested by Dr Lisa to not try brushing his teeth until after his dental, because we don't want him to associate tooth brushing with pain. I could give it a try and see what he thinks though. I will have to pick up some cat toothpaste this week.

wasn't it scooter that had all those zeroes come up on the blank cells of his ss? where did they go? am i mixed up - maybe it was someone else's ss.
 
what a beautiful kitty. :smile: It looks like he is coming down nicely tonight, too.

If Dr. Lisa said to wait on the tooth brushing, I would probably wait.
