Moo is just at 152. Barely over 150.
A few times when he's been around there, he's gotten really low and i've had to watch him all day.
I leave for work in 30 min and I won't be home to monitor him at all today until 530pm

Since he is hovering at 150, should I NOT shoot??
THanks.

Re: 1/22 Moo; AMBG 152;

I don't think he's gotten too low previously but I understand your being apprehensive.

You could either shoot a reduced dose or skip. I also want to underscore if you had gotten a test or two last night, you might have some clue where the numbers are going this morning.

Re: 1/22 Moo; AMBG 152;

Also, can you remove the 911? This isn't a life threatening emergency. You can always note, "Help" in your subject line.

Re: 1/22 Moo; AMBG 152;

I see a few times on your ss where you shot a number in that range and he didn't go too low.

But, I also understand your apprehension.
You can leave extra bowls of food out, or a little extra higher carb food out, if you decide to shoot. That will make you feel more comfortable.
It is your decision.

Yeah I think I rather not shoot. With no one going to be home all day... and a 2nd cat that could eat any left out food (not to mention a dog who is figuring out how to get anywhere to get their food...)
Id feel better not doing it in case he drops to low and Im not here to catch it.

I think we're going to need a plan to help you on days like this. It's not going to be the best strategy to keep skipping shots since Moo is making good progress. I'd hate to see you keep losing momentum!

Hi guys .. Sometimes you have to do what you feel is best and if not shooting is better for you guys, go with it .. But take Sienne up on making a plan for days like this .. you would really hate to lose all this momentum moo has going .. have a great day guys!

Hi,
Thanks everyone for your help.
I was able to run home at 1245 on my lunch break long enough to feed Moo and get a check in
So at +6 he was at 215.

What kind of plan could we implement or how do I deal with this in the future. I don't like skippin shots either!

Thanks

I would start by setting alarms to get some night time tests in every night. I would try for around +6 or whenever you think his nadir is. Eventually, you will be able to shoot lower numbers as you become used to them.
Also, I love to see and get a PM +11 in the morning. That way, if I have to leave for the day, I can compare that +11 to the AMPS test and know whether my cat is surfing along, or rising, or dropping. If I see my cat is surfing or rising, it makes me feel much more comfortable walking out the door.
And, I have on occasions, asked a neighbor to check in on my cat mid day. Do you know anyone who could do that for you, and if nothing else report back to you and provide fresh food to Moo.

I usually go to bed about 11pm-midnight which would be +4, +5.
I can test him at both or one of those before I go to bed and see where he's going.
There is no one in my condo complex I trust at all. Nor would I give a key or let near my apt lol
I do have a roommate... I dont want him to have to have to test or give his shots but he has/can give mid day food to Moo if hes at home and not working.
I should be able to get better numbers now. With the skip this morning and the 15 min earlier shoot last night, I shot at 615 tonight, so +6 will be midnight as I go to bed. And near +7 on my lunch breaks so it might be a little better to get some number ideas then.

That sounds like a good beginning to some plans for the future.
What was Moo's PMPS?
