Yesterday's Condo

Well, I certainly plead guilty of letting myself be taken in. I knew better - I should have retested when I saw that beautiful green number last night, but I just let myself live in a fantasy world and wrote it down and moved on. ohmygod_smile

So we bumped him up to 1.5 this AM. Paws crossed he comes down a bit more...

Back to reality! Cinco is moving around a little more, has found a second favorite place to nap. I am not convinced he needs fluids today, but will play it by ear. Right now I feel like he is doing okay. I am on lb watch, though, because I don't think he's pooped in about 48 hours (the last one was very big and very stinky). Considering offering some pumpkin if he doesn't produce soon. Something else to worry about. :? At least his appetite is still excellent, but what goes in must come out...

Good luck with the dosecrease. I've done that before with a good number too. Then later on realized it was probably a bad test and I should have retested. I hope you get some poo today.

Ah, it happens - nothing wrong with a brief break from reality! Work that dosecrease, Cinco!!! And, poop, too!!!

Thanks, Amy and Carla. So far, the dosecrease hasn't made any difference. I'm not part of the "now" generation, but I've adopted their attitude: I want results NOW! :lol:
I know, I know: patience Grasshopper. But it's sooo hard to wait! :?

Hi Tricia! I thought I said hello already today but I guess not ohmygod_smile

Good luck with the dosecrease! Chyna takes days to show anything usually too, so far. It's ok to live in a world that you want and need to see green :-D I sure do. I want it now, as well! Patience has never been my strong suit.

I hope you see some prezzies soon, we're talking about poop online again :lol: It's good to have several places to nap, oh, to be a cat!

I knew I'd seen you somewhere :lol: I was sure I'd visited your condo...the days and condos are blurring together...oh no! Good thing they put a red star by the ones you've visited and said something so you can double check :cool:

Doh! I didn't know about the red star! It's so tiny (that's my excuse) I never noticed it. I've been checking the box to be notified when a reply was posted, and I get my in-box filled with everyone's replies. ohmygod_smile This is a much easier way to keep track. Thanks for the info!. :-D

Oh my, that's a lot of emails :o I think I wrote that sort of confusing :? ...it doesn't tell you when there are replies...just shows you which condos you've written in. Then I can tell who I've "talked" to :-D

No, you weren't confusing. I knew exactly what you were saying. I just meant that I like to check back to see if there is a response to what I've written, or an update, and this is a better way to know which ones to check than getting all those notifications. I read some and don't comment on them, and I forget which ones I've written in. This was helpful! :-D

Oh good, I never know if my babbling made sense :lol: Maybe you do already,but you can also click on "view your posts" at the top left screen, same line as the user control panel, I use that too to see what's going on but that way I don't get to see who I've missed posting to ;-)

It is difficult to be patient with these things. Sometimes it takes a few cycles to kick in and build the depot or maybe tonight.

Yes, Rachel, I use the 'view your posts" for lots of things, and that's one of them. :-D

I've never noticed the red star. I did notice that the circles by the posts are red if there are unread replies and blue if everything has been read.
 
I guess Cinco has decided that I am not stressed enough. Tonight, for the first time EVER, he refused his dinner. :o He didn't touch any of his bonito flakes or freeze dried salmon snacks all day, although he ate his normal big breakfast. One thing I've always been able to count on is his excellent appetite. I had added a teaspoon of fiber powder to it, and I don't know if he could smell that, or what. I offered him some non-doctored food, and he refused that, too. We really wanted to give him his insulin, so I brought out the baby food, and he ate a jar and a half! Whew! I managed to slip 1/2 teaspoon of the fiber in it, too. I may try to get him to eat the other half jar with the rest of the powder in a few hours. I'm hoping the reason he didn't eat is that he's full - of poo, and that this will loosen things up.

Marje mentioned that she gives her kitties squash baby food for fiber vs. pumpkin. One obvious advantage is a small jar vs. a big can of pumpkin.

Hi Tricia,

Just wanted to mention that a lot of times kitties won't eat because they are in PAIN... Does Cinco get any Buprenor medication for his glaucoma? It can hurt. If he is experiencing any pressure on his eyes today it may be why he is not eating.

If he was my kitty I would look into getting some Burprenor for him. Does it look like the glaucoma is going to be resolved?

Thank you all. Cinco just polished off another jar of chicken baby food, containing the other half of the teaspoon of fiber. Then he went back to sleep.

Tina: I don't think he's in pain from the glaucoma. The pressure has been returned to normal. He's still getting the drops to control the pressure and probably will for the rest of his life.
Sienne: Thanks for the suggestion. I will pick up a jar tomorrow and see if he'll eat it. Meanwhile, I'm going to make pumpkin bread (the only can I had was a big one, and my local grocery store didn't have any small ones, either - out of season now)! :-D
 
Hi Tricia,
I hope Cinco's appetite has improved so that he'll be up for having his normal fuds. I didn't know that squash had more fiber than pumpkin. Our kitties really like the baby food squash. Hopefully, between the pumpkin and the squash, Cinco's tummy will be all systems go.
