Finally, after more than a week, Chaos decided to meow and scratch at the door to wake me up. Took him long enough! He's got the same AMPS today that he did yesterday- 279. Not that I am going to count on him to be predictable or anything lol... He is so excited about food lately. I've discovered that he will indeed eat fish flavored kitty fuds, which was a surprise. I bought some friskies special diet beef and liver and an ocean whitefish got in there by accident. I looked it up, discovered it's LC, and tried it out on him. Success! We have all P's in place and he's lying on DH's pants, which are on the floor because mama-bean would rather have pants on the living room floor than argue. Finding him on or near the pants is typical. He just loves lying on them, rolling around on them, "fighting" with them... he has even managed to fill DH's pants with puke, which is utterly hilarious when DH goes to put them on! Not just once, but regularly during the warmer months, I have to wash grassy cat barf out of DH's Levi's...


However, I have noticed that since switching to the all-wet LC diet there has been NO cat vomit anywhere! Hooray! One or both of them used to toss their cookies once in a while, as cats tend to do, but since I switched, *poof!* no more barfs. NICE! :mrgreen: Of course, once they start going out in the yard again, I'm sure the grass pukes will be back. Oh well, can't have it all. We try to leave them outside until they're finished throwing up lol! (can you tell I am already dreaming of spring?)

I am hoping for blue today, but I'm only going to test at PS and +6 to give his traumatized ears a break. Any thoughts on lancet device vs. freehanding on cats? I have been doing it freehand up to now because I thought the click would scare him too much, placement, etc.

Today in bean adventures, I have a lovely chocolate-coconut cake leveled and waiting for icing and decoration. The smell is so good it's evil. I'm waiting for inspiration as to theme, etc. because if I started right now, I would end up with a cake decorated to look like a giant cat food can! Mmmm, Friskies! Must make room in brain for other things...

So Chaos figured out you were awol finally. Darn. So did you let him in, did he eventually stop? Do tell.

Hoping Chaos hits them lovely greens. He'll be hiding all day for no reason thinking he's hiding well - and you are just giving his ears a break. :lol:

The "cat alarm" was going off at the same time as my actual alarm, so I hauled my butt outta bed and went to him. He doesn't get to go in the bedroom at all- it's the only cat-free place in the house. It helps with DH's sleep; cat hair up his nose and in his eyes bothers him..imagine that!

If DH wants to leave his clothes on the floor, it's only right that he deals with the consequences. (And it gave me a giggle!!)

I freehand when I test. I just didn't feel like I had the same degree of control with the lancing device.

As for testing, I'd suggest getting a +2 or +3. I think it's helpful to know where the cycle is heading by getting an early test in that way you aren't surprised. Also, those flat yellow cycles sometimes means there's some action ahead.

I too freehand with the lancet - better control, for me. I found it easier.

Decent amps too - hey Chaos - blues later maybe?

Chaos has made his way into the blue, but just barely. 0.25u is a tough dose to give and I try to be as accurate as possible. They just don't have needles with quarter unit markings, but the half unit markings on the needles I just bought are helping.

Roni, cat claw holes are the leading cause of death for T-shirts in this household. :lol: It's the price we pay for cuddles.

It's good to know that others test freehand as well. It just seemed the more practical choice from the start. I'm still not touching the right ear, and I found a spot low down near the fold on the left that isn't sore yet and bleeds pretty well.

Now that DH has put on his pants and headed off to hurt some people (he's a tattoo artist), Chaos has been nesting on the couch instead. Meanwhile, I battle the ambient cat hair population in a fight to the death for control of my cake. And wait for Thai food tonight. Friday night is pad thai night at our house :mrgreen:

haha! Karrie, that's too funny. The pain is just a blip on my radar, I don't pay any attention to it. It's no worse than the road rash you get from falling off a bike. Your brother's wedding was beautiful. I should have submitted my wedding to that blog! I was featured in offbeatbride.com instead.

Chaos is napping on the other side of the couch, enjoying a day without too many ear sticks. It's amazing how he'll wake up and shoot across the house when he hears me feeding my civie. From sleep to greased lightning in 2 seconds or less!

WOW and OUCH!!!! (ouch ouch ouch ouch) Your pictures are amazing - you (and your husband) are so creative. I was going in between wow and laughing. Chaos made the pics too - how cool is that.

I really don't get tattoo's HAHAHA. My family just LOVES them though. Cousin is a tattoo artist. But my 2 brothers and my kid sister have them and both SILs. My 2 brothers are covered (sleeves etc). I admit to one the size of a nickel when I was 21 and if it took more than the three minutes, I would have left it undone lol. (Not joking).

Chaos is right back where we started this AM, his PMPS being almost identical to his AMPS. Could this be the start of something beautiful? He's still acting worse than usual about testing but hasn't managed to prevent me from doing it, so: cat 0, bean 1. :razz: But we did get blue today, so that's better than the last two cycles. Down boy, down.

@Karrie- thank you! I had a wonderful photographer and I designed and made the dress myself. Chaos could not get enough of my dress and was buried in the slip any chance he got. Silly kitty! That photo was before he got FD... those were the days! I met my husband when he walked into the bar I was managing. I looked at him and thought "what IS that???? I'll take THREE of them!" Thankfully he was there with someone I knew, so I had my way in. So yeah, I met him at a bar lol!! But I was working... totally different.

@Barb: anything on the floor is fair game, which is why my clothes get put away ;-)
 
You made your own dress? WOW I'm impressed. You did an amazing job. I can't believe you designed it and made it yourself. How did you learn how to do that? I thought you were going to say you met him at a tattoo shop lol.

Chaos more blue svp. He is consistent isn't he.
 
Celi's photo was the perfect complement to your story! Beautiful wedding photos! That's so cool that you made your own gown.

I hope tonight brings some great numbers for Chaos. He seems to be rebelling against his name and favoring consistency. :lol:
