Beginning his 5th cycle on his full strength 1.25U dose. I hope he settles into it. Just when I think it's time for an increase he throws me something like his AM +6/39 yesterday. I did switch from the WalMart syringes to the MonoJet syringes, could that be causing someof this up & down stuff?

I hope all have a great day.

Morning John, wow I bet that 39 was a real waker upper! He had some nice greens at the pm cycle. I use the Monojects and hope they work out well for you. Have a nice day.

Re: 1/20 PurrFace AMPS 276

Some people have found inconsistencies in Monojects...but there seem to be inconsisties in ALL syringes. Apparently, since they're techinically for humans who have much higher doses, the regulations aren't as tight as we LL people would like them to be. Of course, thou, the ups and downs could very well just be a "cat" thing, too  !! We all know that just the threat of a dosecrease often works as well as the actual dosecrease does!

Have a great day!!

My Pack is licking their wounds till next year, so i'll hope you guys win it all!! take care have fun mary and ollie (no secrets from Greg, yet!)

I'm not sure syringes are the cause , Noni is doing the same now she's dropping down at +3 to green after PM of pink !

just hoping he stay good with that dose so you don't have to increase more . good day to you and Purrface dear John.

Nice blues today. We use monojects and haven't looked that closely. I do know some who are on micro doses have found issues but that seems to be the case with all syringes. Have a great night!

Re: 1/20 PurrFace PMPS 273

Yes...it could be the monojects. I used them for a very long time and got into a battle with the company because of the hub at the top. When we first started using them, the needle came all the way through the hub and into the syringe body so whatever insulin in the hub, never got into the cat. Then about a year ago, Ella and I both noticed that the needles were stopping at differing lengths INSIDE the hub so it was actually drawing the insulin in the syringe plus some unknown amount in the hub and that was going into the cat. I finally borrowed a micropippetor from MJ and found that if I drew up 1u in the Monoject syringe and then measured it with the micropippettor, it was 1.46u. Sometimes I got as much as 1.5u. Big variance. The company would do nothing.....they said their target audience is adult diabetics...not cats.

So i switched to Terumos and because all of the syringes are inaccurate, I dose using calipers. That way I don't even have to look at the markings. And the Terumos don't have a hub.
