Good morning,

This is the first morning in quite a while that Mookie didn't wake me asking for breakfast. He was lying at the foot of the bed, quietly performing his morning ablutions when I woke up. My first thought was, oh-oh, he got into food. That turned out to be needless worry. He was just calmly waiting for me to wake and feed him.

His appetite was normal this morning, and so was his AMPS. I believe Starving Kitty only emerges when Mookie's BG numbers are high, which of course is most of the time. The experience of having a well-regulated kitty this morning has been a joy.

During the last few days I've had a reunion with a visiting cousin whom I had not seen for 20 years. The reunion was wonderful, she is wonderful, and we're planning to see each other again sometime this year, hopefully in Paris where she lives. I realized during this time how hard it is to manage a diabetic kitty and have a rich life away from home -- which I haven't had since Mookie's diagnosis less than 2 months ago. Something to think about.

What a very nice cycle for Mookie! And a nice change in behavior to go with it. It's so obvious when they feel better. I'm glad you had a good visit with your cousin and hope you get to visit her in Paris. I hear you on the life complications involved with FD. :roll:

What a gorgeous cycle! I'd love to have a relative in Paris. I love Paris. But, I also hear you about how hard travel is with a diabetic cat.

Yep, I think we can all relate on how difficult it is to travel, etc when you have a diabetic cat. Eventually you figure out to do the things you like, and still care for them. You will get there, things will settle into a routine. I try to do at least one thing a day that is just for me. I hope you enjoyed your visit with your cousin - it sounds like it was a great time. :-D

Wow Randa, what a gorgeous day for Mookie.
:smile: Yeah, she took a visit up to the pink floor to visit her friends, for a while. Hope she gets bored and comes back down......and brings Checks with her. :-D

Hi Randa, what a nice day for Mookie and hope she doeesn't stay up there long on the pink floor. That sounds like it was so nice with the reunion of your cousin. How exciting of a possible visit to Paris. I've only been away once in two years since Maggie's diagnosis. It's possible but just takes some planning. Have a nice evening.

Oh Mookie! Why does Mr liver always crash the party by rearing his ugly head?!? Mooks was having a very nice green cycle.

I'm sure Paris would be beautiful to visit! Maybe someday?

Hi Randa, So nice that you could have a reunion with your cousin, and doubly nice to contemplate the next reunion--in Paris! You will find a way to make that trip. As Michelle says, it's important to take some time for yourself. When I think of Paris I can smell it: a combination of café au lait and Gauloises!

Great numbers today! I havent been away but twice in 4 yrs, as I am very devoted to Moonie--
We had a pet sitter who was a vet tech, & that worked for a while, but she had a baby, so we havent used her much--It is very hard & better to get these relatives to come to us--Hope you can go to Paris--Wish I could....
