HEALTH AND DOSE INFO:
Yesterday was..... stressful! The numbers were wonderful for the morning cycle - a beautiful Zener slide right into the blue Grotto. On the down side appy was a huge issue in the morning. I was able to get his main meal fed, with several attempts, anything after that was a no go. One could tell he did not feel good. The vet and I both feel that it is due to the AB's, so we will discontinue those and see how he does over the next few days. I suspect it will take a day or two to completely rid his system of them. The PM cycle went much better, but it took MC fuds to jump start the appy, get the food into him. What an ugly +2 last night: bounce and MC fueled. We hope for better numbers today, and a good appy. The amps is ugly, but he did eat some of his regular fuds. LB continues to be normal. Mannie was more social in the PM cycle, came and sat with me for a while, met me this morning when I got up. That was wonderful! Mannie - here's to you, some very strong feel better vines. Lubs ya big guy! cat_pet_icon

All is well in MannieLand? ;-) I so want to think so... I wrote that yesterday only to have all eating stop after I did. :shock: He simply was not interested and nothing I did seemed to entice him, leaving manual insertion. That we avoided, numbers were good enough that I decided to ride it out. He spent most of the day napping, with one visit to the nanner pile, one visit to check out his fuds bowl. By the PM cycle he seemed to feel better. We had a short brushing, some one on one time on the sofa, a few cuddles. He did some and visit me during my dinner, which was also nice. I had some cubed chicken in my salad, so thought I'd try a piece or two to get the eaters so to speak. it is one of this fav foods. He did eat it, a good sign think! YAY! A large part of people believe what ailed him yesterday was AB related, and there will be no more. Test was good this morning, as was the shoot. Appy was good: he ate. Close to normalcy in MannieLand. :-D

Have a great day everyone. Today will be catch up day, and errand day, and shopping day: human and furkid: what I didn't get done yesterday.We are still cold, at 26 this morning. Fog set in very early yesterday morning and has not lifted.... still dense as pea soup out there this morning, freezing fog too! FUN!, ought to make for an interesting hike to the shore - hope I can go. :-D

Hey everybody! WOO HOO on yesterday! It was so cool to have the Blue Mannie Group performing LIVE on the boardwalk in sunny CA, Maggie's beach! I LUBBED IT! and the grilln' too. Woo HOO! Hey, you guys wanna go ice skating and skiing and snowboarding today? I kinda feel the need.... I gots lots of mittens and scarves and hats and stuff to keep us warm, and the bus is well stocked with fleece and FUDS! And the sauna and hot tub are fully operational. SO what'd'ya think? You guys in? ~ Let me know, I am ready for anything!!~~ Mannie

Morning Michelle, sorry on the HI and could be from the higher carb foods in getting him to eat. Now that the AB's are removed, paws and fingers crossed Mannie's appy returns. This sure has been a rough go for him with the meds and appy issues. I know he will overcome as always. Good thing the Vet realizes it's the AB's causing the appy issues. Mannie, let's see you eat some good fuds today and feel better, k. Thank you always for the wonderful Espresso and 10 hour energy coffee, too.

Good Morning, guys,

Bummer on the "HI". Start that slide, Mannie! Do you think he was allergic to that A/B, Michelle? (which one was it? I've lost track with so many kitties on so many different meds!). Anyway, we are hoping for a day of good eating, enjoying fuds, and good getting back to normal.

If you venture out today, enjoy your walk. Your weather sounds as bad as ours: we now have rapidly falling temperatures, high winds, and wind-driven snow. It's supposed to get down to -10 tonight. I'm rethinking whether I want to do a 10-mile ski tomorrow. The high for the day is supposed to be 6!

Mannie barista, thank you for the breve triple. We enjoyed it so much. We want you to feel better today, buddy. Healing vines for you!

Yo Mannie, snow sports sound good today, but let's make sure we have lots of warm stuff to eat and drink. I'll bring the hot tuna toddies and some venison stew.

Dont worry aboput the HI, though we know how strressful that is. Mannie will come down. Just concentrate on finding the food of interest to him. AB always cause appy issue with my cats too.

Morning Ann ~O) ~O) ~O) Oh yeah that HI is ugly: a combo I think of the MC, and a bounce, and up he went. Sure hope he doesn't stay up there long. Appy was OK this morning, so far. And yes, vet did agree with me on the AB's. so for now we stop, let him git over this set of AB's.

Hope you are able to go for that walk Michelle that is what DH and I did yesterday it was in the upper 40s to almost 50 and it was to be our last warm day for about a week we had a nice 7 mile hike in a forest not too far from where I live. Sending Mannie lots of healing vines cat_pet_icon

HI @ +2. oh wow.... sure hope this breaks with the next test. :? Mannie has been up and about this morning, making his morning rounds of the house, a good sign for today. The activities are more Mannie like, which is nice, considering how HI he is. LB continues to be normal, and so far the appy appears to be good.

All is sounding better for Mannie, except for those darned numbers. Please come down, Mannie, and please eat your fuds!

I really know very little about R, but it does sound like it may be a good idea to give it a try - maybe that will help break the cycle of these high numbers. Since R is in and out quickly, you might be able to fit it in your schedule...

I've been following Mannie here lately. You guys are certainly juggling a lot of health issues. Mannie is so fortunate to be cared for and loved by such a great bean. Hope that whatever is ailing him right now resolves so he can start feeling better. We ALL lubs the big guy. Sending warm healing vines.

Maybe it will be a good way to get him down from the stratosphere. It may be an option then if it is in and out quickly. and yes - e too hoping that the next update has numbers in it!

He is a kitty that does not like a lot thrown at him at once, and this has been what has happened over the past few weeks/months. No big surprise, in view of all that, that he came down wit p'titis. just has not been a fun past few weeks. I feel for him - all that he does is done on a slow pace, and to be juggling so much at once is tough for him. THX for your comments - We do the best we can. Many THX for the vines too!

Michelle, I hope this roller coaster ride evens out soon. We are sending vines each day. Glad he's getting some fuds in him! That is wonderful. And take care of YOU, too ~ hope the stress isn't getting the best of you.

Morning Josie - darn awful, isn't it! :o :roll: and so do I on this roller coaster. I know the cause for yesterday and his sudden rise at pmps. THX - he ate well this morning, back to regular fuds, so I hope things will improve as the day goes on. and yes, this is stressful for me, but I do try and do the things that I know, for me, are stress relievers. So far, those things are working. :-D

I use R also when I am home is a matter learning how your cat reacts to R I was looking online last night for R since i need to get a new bottle and Wowza its gone up :shock:

That's the beauty of R, you don't have to use it consistently.

To use last night as an example, he went from 164 to 424 in two hours. Obviously he was on his way to the moon. A little R given when you saw the 424 might have helped keep him in in the 400s at least, instead of going all the way to Hi. That would have given him a better place to start today. And today, starting out with Hi, then a touch of R might have pulled him down into 400s before the Lantus onset, which would make the Lantus's job easier.

444 @ +6. oh happy days! I never thought I'd be so glad to see red. Keep on going Mannie, make it a rainbow day... slowly of course. I took time this morning to go on a local hike, when I came home at his +6 he was waiting for me at the top of the stairs. :-D So we petted, he purred, and I told him give me a minute and we will get his +6. it was so great to head into the kitchen after taking of my coat, to find him waiting in his testing spot. He hasn't done that in a couple of weeks. And the purrs - broke the sound barrier. Thanks you all for your input on R - it is appreciated. I will consider this. For today however, I will be taking him up to 1u, baring any unforeseen issues that tell me otherwise.

What a relief that Mannie is eating better for you and sitting in his testing spot. It is so stressful when our kitties break from their normal routine. I'm hoping that it was just all AB related. It sure seems like it since he is doing a little better. I will keep sending healthy eating vines to Mannie.

Glad you were able to take a hike today!

Oh Michelle. I know how awful that red looks, but it's sure better than HI. And that Mannie is doing some normal things, like joining you for dinner and eating better is so nice.
Hope he gets cleared of the ab quickly, and that makes him feel good again.

Oh Mannie! You poor guy. That pancreatitis does a number. I hope he comes down soon. When T had it he was in the hospital and they used R to get him back down. It would have been so hard for us to do that here though. Thinking of both of you. :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Hi Barb - oh yes, this morning was UGLY number wise. But he does seem to feel better. I so hope that continues tonight. It is nice to see him doing more normal tings. And so agreed on the AB's. I know on the R, i sill feel I could not use that without being here for sometime after. Mannie is so sensitive to new things etc... I'd have to be able to monitor. THX on all - he slowly is coming fown today. We are hoping for a good cycle tonight, and that he will eat.

316 @ pmps. yes, and a slow slide down all day. WOW, and so nice to see. He ate well tonight, normal fuds, but a little higher carb count than normal, just in case all falls apart tonight. Mannie is currently taking a long bath. It is so wodnerful to see his normal fuds behavior. GO MANNIE! Ketone test at +11 was negative, I will still give him his bupe, around +3.5, but the dose for that has been reduced. LB continues to be normal.

Much better preshot number for Mannie tonight. AB's are necessary, but they sure can mess up a poor kittie's appetite and LB. Happy to see he is making progress.

Yeah for regular fuds appy! And nice to see he is up to grooming and more regular behaviour. Good luck with that new dose, I hope it brings him more into that blue grotto we all want to see for him.

I'm happy that he ate and took a bath. Little things like that are important. I hope he continues to improve in leaps and bounds.
