I don’t know what’s going on but I feel defeated as usual when Bella’s numbers start to be wonky.

Two weeks ago we increased her up to 1.25 because while we were away and she was on the 0.75 her numbers were in the 200s all week. Makes me upset because before we went away she was getting great numbers. So the increase seemed to be working, she had some good nadirs and some days good numbers but then she would go low and bounce hard and it would take a few days to settle down.

Lately we have had company and the fireworks from new years scared her, as she gets older her anxiety definitely increases. Even though she’s getting these higher than usual numbers her energy is good, she’s playful, not drinking excessively, peeking and pooping normally, and being her regular self, sometimes a little extra hungry which makes me feel that I don’t feed her enough.

I don’t know what to do. I’m feeling lost, I’m really hoping I don’t need to increase her again because it’s only been 2 weeks and sometimes she takes awhile to adjust to an increase.

Any chance you could mix up the times you test mid cycle? +6 is not reliably the nadir and if possible in the PM and you see a big drop, like the night of 12/30, I would have tried for a later test to see if you are missing lows. Which could be leading to bouncing and the resulting higher numbers.

It’s hard because we both work and aren’t home to test. I’m at work all day and my husband comes home at 1 then goes to the gym. And at night it’s hard because we’re both sleeping. What times would you suggest testing? Like today she went from 275 and 2 hours later she was 182, then 111 and jumped up to 286. She sits by her bowl like sometimes 1-2 hours before it’s time for her to eat.

Just test when you can at different times, like weekends and holidays. Getting a few tests in, like a mini curve might help pin point the best time to test. When she got those limes in October they were around +3-+4.
