Good morning!
@Wendy&Neko , thank you for taking the 911 prefix away, I forgot completely yesterday and when i wanted to do it yesterday evening it was gone. Sorry it stayed all day!
I got a call from the internal medicine vet this morning, he said he was very surprised to see how Bella was doing, after reading her chart, he was expecting to see a very different cat but she improved dramatically and is moving around, barely limping, eating voraciously (I am quoting him) and looking a lot more comfortable.
We agreed to just treat her symptoms and wait and see how she was doing before doing any more exams, since everything was normal or almost in September. The only thing they found then was possibly IBD, if I remember well. He said than on the blood test from yesterday her globulin was high, slightly, which could be a sign of inflammation or cancer. We will check that again in a few weeks.
Her blood glucose was good too.
So now I am waiting for them to call me back and she will probably come home today.
I cannot thank all of you enough for your support yesterday :bighug:

Thank you so much for the great update Cecile! I was already lurking..... This sounds all very positive and I am happy, she comes back home soon. Seems like she is really resiliant. Maybe she knows, that lots of love and the chance to steal some yummy panetone are waiting for her at home. :cat:

Please hug her tight from me tonight and also big hugs for you. That must have been so stressful and filled with anxiety. I am more than grateful and happy, she is feeling better! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you, Heike! Yes, I was afraid I was going to lose her. It is still stressful, but I am so glad she is doing better. She was so loving yesterday evening, she was very weak but she put her head in my hands and stayed like that. I feel so close to her, it is really true that caring for them once they are diabetics give us a special bond. I loved all my cats but I never had such a bond with any of them. I was completely attached to my first cat, the one I had from 4 years old to 16, but that was different, I did not feel responsible for her, maybe? I am not sure how to explain but I know you all get it.

I can totally relate. Binie is my first cat but I feel how much our relationship changed during the last year. I always loved her but we are much more bonded since she is diabetic. Before she was more the independent outdoor cat. Now I have this fragile old lady at home who trusts me enough to let me do all this crazy stuff with her. Enjoy the overall good news and that she is doing better today. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

So happy to read that she could be coming home soon! :joyful::joyful: BTW, it wasn't me who removed the 911.

Did they do an ultrasound yesterday? That's the first step in an IBD diagnosis, but not the last. Useful blood work to get at some point is the GI panel - the Texas A&M panel is one many use. It tests for B12 and folate, and a couple other tests.

:p it was me! No worries. I knew you had your hands full so happy to help out.

Such great news to hear about Bella. I hope you heard a huge, collective sigh of relief.

She is home! I just picked her up. She is doing well. First thing she did when we opened her carrier was to run to her plate and sit there, waiting :) I am not kidding!
She thanks you for the offers of pizza and butter but will try to stay healthy from now on.
@Wendy&Neko , they did an ultrasound in September, the only thing they saw was some thickening of the intestinal wall, but we did not do anything further. No ultrasound this time, we'll see how she does and decide in a few weeks if she needs any exams. They want to recheck her blood labs too.
She has only Plavix (for ever, I hope!) and Gabapentin now. They gave her pills, I still have it in a liquid form, so we'll see how well she takes it.
I am so relieved to have her back, and in such good spirits too. She is looking at me now and would like to be fed. Last time she was very groggy because of the Buprenorphine, I think.
She's waiting by her feeder because her plate is missing.

Oh Bella, we are so happy you’re home. Even though you look so mad at your Mom for not having fed you yet!
I also want to “like” this so many times! ❤️❤️❤️
Sending lots of love :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Oh my gosh, how adorable!
So happy to hear that she is home!
You know, I've been crying a lot lately, - I cried just now but this was a happy one, looking at the sweet face of Bella! (demanding food!)
Hope you will sleep well tonight! :bighug::bighug::bighug:
Oh, Kit, you are making me cry now :bighug::bighug::bighug:
Bella ate (not right away, it was about one hour to her shot time when we came home, but she had some broth), asked for more, she even stood up on her back legs. She amazes me. She used her litter box and is back in the kitchen waiting for food.
She seems a little bit uncoordinated, maybe, but not all the time and not too much. She was sitting and shaking slightly, I carried to the spot where she likes to sleep and she laid down for a while. She stayed on my lap one or 2 minutes (she never does), but I think that was because it was closer to my plate. She was getting excited there.
I am hoping she will be fine now. I hope we all have a good night, I did not sleep well last night and I am feeling it now!
Good night to you all and thank you again for the vines that helped us. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you!
She already jumped on the counter. I moved all the chairs away from it and gave her one extra feeding in her feeder, she looks very hungry. Idon't want her tio jump and hurt herself. The house is all open, it's not possible to close her in a room to be safe, so I am hoping she will be happy waiting for it to open on the floor! I will check on her until she comes upstairs, if she does.
