Third day in a row that Simon is green in the AM. What great advice y'all gave me to feed him at +8 or +9. I don't really know why it works, but I'm not questioning it. Simon is so funny. I have my automatic feeder next to my bed and during the night, Simon sits at the very foot of my bed so he can hear the feeder door open -- he then jumps down immediately to eat. He will also just stand by the feeder when I first put the food in it, staring at it, hoping he can open it with telepathy.

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Hi and nice AMPS for Simon. That's great the feeder works out so nicely - gives me hope for Maggie. I still have to exchange my defective PetSafe, hopefully tomorrow. Have a nice day. Which feeder are you using for Simon?

What a great start for Simon! The feeder gave me a chuckle! I've thought about trying one with Willie.... he isn't always the brightest (shhh!), so I'm worried that it would freak him out.

HEY!!! I HEARD THAT!!! --Willie

Hi Georgia, pretty AMPS again today, very nice! I would suggest that you do the same thing during the day too....set a snack up for +8 or +9. The reason it works is that with a working pancreas, food stimulates insulin production...so giving a snack will actually bring his numbers down. This is proof that Simon's pancreas is working at least part of the time...excellent news! :-D

Tinkles does the same thing. He knows when the feeder is due to open, and he lays by it and waits, or sits by it and stares at it until it opens.
