Yesterday's Condo

Cinco is a flat yellow kitty so far today, after a quick visit to the stinky pinkies. He seemed a little better when I gave him his breakfast, as far as alertness and energy goes, but he didn't want to come out for his +6 snack and barely lifted his head when I tested him, so I think a round of sub-qs are in his future. I'm off to the vets to get some! Then one more look at Marje's video to make sure I remember how to do it. This should be interesting. Wish me luck!

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all the tired, stressed out beans that love them! :YMHUG:

Well, at least Cinco headed down to yellows...looks like Chyna and Cinco like to hang out in the same colors...if only they were blues and greens ;-) I hope you can get the supplies and amount from the vet and that Cinco will be a good little patient for his subqs. Sending feel better vines :-D

I hope everything goes well with the subqs and it helps Cinco feel better. How awful on the water limitations because of the drought.

Good luck with the fluids...I hope they make Cinco feel better. Slide it down a bit more, Cinco!!

Re: 1/19 Cinco AMPS 321 + 3 259 +6 269

Well, it took me forever to get the fluids - they kept having emergencies at the vet and I kept getting bumped, but I got them and Cinco got his first dose around 5:30 pm. They only wanted me to give him 100 ccs. He wasn't thrilled with the experience, but he was relatively cooperative. There was almost no bump on his neck/back where the fluids went in, but I know they did go in. I guess it's just because I'm used to seeing him after getting 200ccs. Afterwards he crawled in a corner and pouted. I really feel like a villian, doing all these awful things to him (at least he thinks they're awful) . I wish I could explain to him what I'm doing and why. He wasn't at all interested in the treats I offered during the procedings, but he did eat all his dinner an hour later, so I'm not concerned about that. His PMPS was pretty good, despite the trauma. The doctor suggested I give the fluids every day, but I think I'll wait and see how he is tomorrow, and decide if I'll do it every day or every other. Really, it went very smoothly, and I give a lot of credit to Marje for her wonderful video. It gave me a lot more confidence going in than I had last year when I had to give fluids to Kisa.

Re: 1/19 Cinco PMPS 276 Sub-q Fluids Given

I'm glad the fluids went smoothly, I've been wondering! We usually see a small bump, but it depends on where they are going in if it shows and how much she needed them :-D Chyna doesn't always eat her treats during and she sure wants to get the heck away when we're done. I, too, wish I could explain...anyways, I hope it makes Cinco perk up for you :-D
