Hi Barb, Is the Friskies Salmon a new one? I was thinking sometimes a new fuds causes a spike. Or maybe a new pen needed, as you mentioned. Checkers, how about some blue next poke. Have a nice day.

Ann, he's been mostly pink for days, with a little rainbow action. I just don't trust this pen, so I will start a new one, before raising his dose again.

The Fancy Feast Salmon is inded new for him, but his numbers were not good before I bought it. I like that it's higher in calories, so I hope it's not raising his bg nailbite_smile

Thanks for the reminder that it's a possibility, like T&G is for some.

Hi Barb, I hope the Salmon agrees with Checkers's bg's. It seems the fuds they really love are the ones that cause the spike.

Hey Barb, one of ollies, favorite foods was ff salmon. i have to dilute it with water and his other food and and give it only on occasion since it does seem to make a difference in his numbers. kind of odd because it's so low in carbs. I hope that's not the case with Checkers and the extra calories help. I suppose you'll have your answer if Checkers does better with the new pen. Paws crossed for that. take good care mary and oliver

Hi Barb,

I hope the FF Salmon works, too. Have you tried coconut oil? Marje says that it is good for hairballs and also good to maintain weight (her Gus is maintaining his weight well on it). Check it out. Marje says you have to start with very little. Apparently cats really like it. Do a search on FDMB to see the various references. Tropical Traditions is the brand that people like. I bought a jar, but haven't tried it yet on Rusty because he does not need to gain weight(!).

Ella, I give Checks coconut oil when I think of it......he LOVES it. I let him lick it off the back of my hand.
Marje tells it by ml , if I remember correctly.....i don't know what that is in teaspoon.
I give a tiny blob, probably less than 1/8 teaspoon, would be my guess, in it's solid form.

Hi guys nice to see Checkers off the pink floor! Good luck with the new pen! I feed my kitties the salmon also and it doesn't seem to make a difference. Weird how different flavors affect kitties. I bought the coconut oil for the kitties mainly for my civvie and she doesn't like it go figure but I use it for myself, it is an awesome moisturizer!! Have a great day!

Hmmm, we seem to be moving now, almost to blue floor. Probably not, as he usually starts to climb around +6.

So close to blue. It looks like Checkers is teasing you about that blue. I hope the new pen helps with his numbers.
