Good morning, LL. Thinking of Sid and Lydia and sending healing energy to Sid. Also thinking of Marje and DM. Zener is doing fine this morning. He ate 0.85oz that I left out overnight. This is the first time that he has freefed wet food consistently. We might have to get an automatic feeder. He's helping with his condo this morning, sprawled out on the filing cabinet sleeping. I can see his bare belly - fur is starting to grow. It took a month for the bare spot on his leg to turn black so I expect the same for his tummy. He had a picnic this morning and then peed in the yard. He is peeing a lot so I've got to get his numbers down. Probably a dosecrease at Wed PM when I will be around to monitor the next few cycles. He is also due to open a new vial. Have a good day everyone!

OT: All is going smoothly for Anne and her meetings start today.

Great to hear that Zener is free feeding! What a sweet boy to help with his condo. Tarragon always just sleeps on the job.

I am glad to hear Zener is doing well. We hate to see these ugly bounces, but I'm sure he will come back down.

I love the auto feeder. I freeze portions in ice cube trays for the meals that will open later in the day.

Hi guys .. good job on eating your fuddies zener! I hope the dose increase helps bring these numbers down .. I know it's hard to see them so high .. Glad to hear all is going well for Anne .. have a great day!

It's really great to read Zeners condo and see he's eating so well again. I know the cerenia he can't take forever, but what about the other meds? Will those be long term meds for Z?

Time to bring those numbers down Zener.

Tray and I will keep our paws and fingers crossed the new dose and vial will work wonders and bring Zener down to nice numbers.

Free feeding is wonderful news. It's amazing how quickly he turned around. Good luck w/ the dosecrease.

I think Zener has taken all the meds and supplements that he is supposed to have taken so far today. Phew! I had to make a little chart to keep it all straight. The cerenia injection went fine and just one more! He didn't eat that great this morning but was extra hungry tonight. I even got him to eat some 2% by chasing him around with the bowl. Tillie even ate it too! That is very strange because they never like the same thing. I will try to test for ketones on his next piddle pad donation. Poo patrol was successful tonight. It was not quite as hard as last night and he didn't seem to strain as much. Hopefully the miralax will be kicking in soon. All good here! Have a nice evening LL.

Melissa: Well, Zener doesn't do much more than sleep but gives great moral support. :lol: :lol:
Linda: It may be a bit of a bounce or just not enough juice. He's on 0.5u now and was getting 1.75u before the dental.
Devon: Defintely hard to see these high numbers.
Tracy: Our vet said we would try to slowly wean him off the reglan as long as he keeps eating. My impression is that reglan can be a long term medication.

Ann: It is amazing how quickly he's gotten back to eating. Phew! Sure makes it easier on me. And Anne not having to worry as much. :-D

Hi Liz - It is good to read that Zener free-fed last night. YAY!! What a relief it must be. I can so see you chasing him around with the bowl. :lol: :lol: Good job too on the poo patrol. :-D

I just love hearing how Zener is eating now - what a relief. Woohoo on a successful poo patrol! Are you leaving little markers around the yard for Anne to inspect when she gets home :lol: ?

Nice report today, Zener! It's great that you are eating your fuds. I'll bet you'd like an automat. Rusty has one that looks a lot like your picnic table (Cat Mate C-20, two-compartments with separate timers).
It's terrific that you have all the meds under control, Liz.
We're very glad that Anne is settled in Bonn and wish her a good meeting.

Enjoy the evening. Our snow is turning to ice in the rain. Ugh!

Almost to yellow! Zener is not terribly keen on the idea of reducing his carbs but is doing his best.

Michelle: definitely a relief to have him eating, even somewhat enthusiastically. Nothing like Mannie, though. :-D

Ella: thanks for the feeder recommendation. I've made of note of that for Anne. She does the shopping. She was a busy bee. There are 7 packages in the hall that have been delivered since she left! :lol: I know I won't run out of anything.

hi liz! had to stop by and check to see how you and zener were doing! sounds like you've mastered all this nurse-y stuff, giving the cerenia injections, making a med chart and all that. you go girl! glad to hear that anne made it through to Bonn ok *waves to anne* and chocolate? you are so lucky!

all good news here in zenerland - seems like his appetite has finally picked back up. i'm so glad!

hope you have a good rest of the evening there in 110" land! brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr :lol: we have about 3" and it seems like a lot!
 
I suspect you are correct -- Zener needs more insulin. It's so good to hear that he's eating and the 5 Ps are much more present and in good working order.
 
Great on the eating!!!! Hope the dose crease brings him down--He is doing well because he has great beans! Hugs & love from us! :-D
