Opened a new vial of Lantus. I was reading a condo a few days ago in which Sienne said DON"T inject air into the vial! What?? The video in the "Proper Handling of Lantus" sticky says DO inject air into the vial, so that's what I've been doing. I'll try taking better care of this vial.

Pepper has been very active today (for him). He walked around inspecting his yard and even chased after a blowing leaf. Then he decided to sit in the sun. I doubt the new vial of Lantus had an instantaneous effect, but at least he seems to be feeling good today.

It's nice to hear he is feeling ok even if his BG is still high... Sigh

I always thought you were supposed to inject air into the vial so it didnt explode. But not inject extra insulin into it so I would be interested to see what sienne says.

I know you don't do that with the pens though since they work using the pressure.

I was pretty sure that Sienne was saying not to inject air, but I could have misunderstood.
