I'll add my cheers for the successful outcome! Do you maybe need to increase the amount of pumpkin you're giving him? Do you give it once or twice a day? Also, when Cinco was having issues with constipation, a little canola oil in his food seems to make things move a little easier.

Sending good poo vines for continued output. Also a few safe surfing vines, since he seems to be celebrating his success in the deep end of the lagoon. :D
 
Hi Tricia and Amy. When I tried to get Max to eat more pumpkin he wouldn't eat the food. so now I'm trying to add a little every time I feed him. Thanks for the tip on canola oil.
 
Max's numbers are looking really nice again today. :D I'm glad to read there was POO!!! Maybe it was just a temporary thing? Or if not, hopefully the pumpkin gets him moving regularly again.

Hope you're doing okay, Elise. I know taking care of Max and your mom has to be wearing you down. Don't forget to take care of yourself, too! :bighug:
 
coconut oil or even vaseline can both be used to help move things along. I've heard some people give coconut oil regularly, but am not remembering who exactly. Might be Wendy or Marje.

Max is looking great today! how are you doing?
 
Thanks for visiting Tricia, Jen, Amy, Shelly, and Julie. He jumped up from 68 to 147 in about 4.5 hours while I was out. I left out some food just in case but he didn't touch it. After his test he ate some of it. It seems he is never hungry after +7, even if his BG is on the low side. That's fine as he would weigh 17 pounds otherwise, LOL. He didn't help or rather hinder my measurement of his insulin tonight!

Max has needed miralax for several months but I wasn't concerned about it until I read it contains something that is in antifreeze. I was hoping to stop cold turkey but I guess he doesn't agree with me. So I'll continue it for this week, keep giving him pumpkin if he will eat it, and get some SEB to try. I'll see what my vet says Wednesday.

Did I mention I think Max has lost most of his hearing? Old age or some other cause I will discuss with his vet.

Shelly, please post a Jersey condo. They are sooo entertaining.
