Yesterday's Condo

This bean is very tired. Gabby has been surfing in the greens since +4 last night with just enough dips that we didn't get very much sleep. The only thing that placated the kitties was that they were getting snacks well into what was everyone's bedtime. I'm very glad today is a holiday.

Gabby is snoozing while keeping the hallway safe from intruders. Gizmo is yapping about something. I need coffee.

glad you have a holiday today, hope you can catch up on some sleep or at least have a calm day. Gabby did great and I bet she can surf these lovely numbers today

Aren't you lucky that you have a guard cat for that hallway? Everyone should be so lucky. Gizmo is being his cute self being yappy. He must know his bean has the day off and he's happy. Gabby is looking awesome!!!!!

Gabby is looking great, but Sienne is a little tired. ~O) ~O) ~O)

It is tiresome when one is working the green numbers. It is part of the reason I acquired the timed feeder, but even that is not an end all be all solution. If you're not home and they decide to miss a meal, eat the next one and then they are at cut-off...but need the missed meal...they can't access it. Ugh!

Hopefully you can get some rest today Sienne.

I hope, too, Gabby keeps these nice numbers going today. You can relax today hopefully since nbp today! What would we do without our coffee?

I know, Libby! I was expecting that she might head up after all that green surfing last night. I guess not.

What's actually interesting, at least to me, is that I fed Wellness last night and this morning. I ran out of pre-mix (new distributor and they don't ship as fast) for their raw food so the kitties are getting canned. It's a littler higher in carbs than raw. I don't know if that's making a difference or if it's coincidence.

interesting thought. Sometimes I think the composition of the food has something to do with the cat's response too, not just the number or percent of carbs.

great numbers and a dosecrease for sure. I remember reading somewhere on here,that someone actually increased the carb intake and had gotten lower numbers. may be worth investigating

  • +4.5 ~ 69 didn't feed - wanted to see if numbers would level off
  • +5 ~ 52 - fed HC since numbers apparently haven't leveled off
  • +5.5 ~ 51
  • +6 ~ 62 no food
  • +6.5 ~ 66 no food
  • +7 ~ 70 no food
  • +8 ~ 182
HC was fed at +2 and thereafter unless noted.

If any newbies or lurkers are out there, this is why close monitoring with low numbers is important. Gabby's numbers are wobbling. The only way to catch the drifting is to test!

Gabby, you are keeping your mama busy! Why don't you surf it out so she can enjoy a nice long holiday nap?

Interesting find on the food, Sienne. I've been avoiding canned food for Willie, but makes me feel better to know if I have to use it, it might not be so bad!

Well, if we're thinking behaviorally, she does get reinforced for having high numbers and low numbers, right? No pokies (or less pokies) when numbers are verra high, more fud (and more yummier fud) when numbers are low.

They've got the system beat.

This dose is toast! Go Go Go Gabby!!

Johnny and Gabby sure are celebrating the holiday in style! Congrats on the dosecrease. No more drama today, Gabby girl! Mama bean needs some sleep.

Sienne, you have had a busy night and it looks like you are having a busy MLK day, too. I'm glad you didn't have to go to work today. I was supposed to be off, but we decided to open since we were closed so many days last week. Gabby, take it a little easier on your bean today!

ohmygod_smile 29 (1.6) !!! ohmygod_smile You seem all calm... I would be having a hearth attack :o I guess that is experience!!

Very nice recovery but a 29 is tough to take when you are tired and bleary-eyed!!! Does look like she is ready for something new! Gabby's SS also looks like she is definitely a senior at LTS....now she just needs that very final last few credits to graduate. Good luck with the dosecrease.

All I can say is, Gabby is lucky YOU were at the helm.

Wellness has slightly higher fat content, doesn't it? Wonder what role that played.

And there's the bounce. It's completely expected given the 29. I shot the old dose this evening and I'll take the reduction tomorrow.

Gabby has been sleeping a lot of the day. At several points this afternoon, Gizmo joined her. He snuggled up, wrapped his paws around Gabby's head, and fell asleep. Every so often, one of them would rouse and Gizmo would wash Gabby's face or an ear and they'd go back to sleep. It was definitely an "Awwwwww..." moment. Of course, after dinner and shot, Gabby was hanging out under the dining room table, Gizmo latched on to her neck, and once she could break free, Gabby went flying down the hall to the safety of the cubes with the kitten charging after her. I could hear Gabby hissing from the kitchen!

Ouch Gabby but anyone who knows her will not be surprised with that bounce.
I was secretly hoping that she might have leant some new tricks while I
was on the board a little less but Gabby aims to please.

Love the Gabby & Gizmo story today.
Yes its is an "Awwwwww" moment.

Guess you will get the well desreved, highly overated, sleep. :smile:

Wow, what a day for Gabby and you! You sure deserve a good night's rest. Thank goodness for the cubes; I'll bet Gizmo is just sitting there waiting for her to exit her hideout!

Lol!!! You all assume that Gabby will make this a save-a-strip night! She dropped almost 130 points in 2 hours. Never let it be said that my girl doesn't know how to clear a bounce.

I just hope that tonight isn't one of those nights where Randi gets to remind me of what I once told her -- sleep is a highly overrated commodity.
