Good Morning!
Michelangelo had some really beautiful numbers last night. He's settled into this dose (and size at 9.4 pounds) quite nicely. He's started eating less these last few days, more so because I think he's just getting older and requiring less calories.
Mr. T, the new kitten, might have a name finally! Yesterday, my brother and his best friend spent the entire day with him and my brother's BFF (who's half Hawaiian) suggested "Heneli" (pronounced Hon-ah-lay), which is Hawaiian for "Henry." They proceeded to call him that all day long so by the time I got home, Mr. T was already responding to it. Then again, he was responding to "Max" the night before last.
Mr. T and Michelangelo spent all last night getting to know each other and all Mr. T wants to do is be able to play with Mikey, but Mikey still isn't too sure about him. He's such a good influence on Mikey, though! One of Michelangelo's nicknames has always been "Skitty-Kitty" because he's so skittish and will run and hide if anyone startles him...and he's easily startled. All last night, however, Mikey only hid once! And that was with more people around than he was used to (me, my bro, my roommate, and my bro's BFF), music playing, TV on, and a brand new kitten trying to play with him!!
And I think my brother is already in love with the little newcomer! Last night, I was still planning on closing Mikey up in my room and Mr. T downstairs to sleep, but then my brother said, "I'll go ahead and let Heneli sleep in my room tonight so he's not all alone."
This morning, I let Mikey and Henry chase each other around while I prepared their food for the day (I'm working in the office again today), however, I have once again separated them with Mikey locked in my room and Henry free in the rest of the house. When my brother wakes up, hopefully he'll be around enough today to let them run around together some more, but it's still too early for me to feel comfortable allowing them to be together with no supervision. I'm working from home tomorrow so I'm thinking by Friday, they'll be fully acclimated with each other.
