Morning/Afternoon LL! I ended up home sick today and have been btb...may be going back there too @-) Yesterday: Chyna 1/15

So far not much action from the dosecrease :sad: A hint of yellow just now. Chyna doesn't seem very interested in fuds today...or maybe it's the bowl...at breffis she ate a few bites, then left so I moved the bowl and she ate a few more bites and laid down on her mat. So I got a spoon and fed her, and she was interested and ate it all. I set the timer for her +2 meal so I could go to bed, and she ate most of that one. Then the +4 one just now only ate half...she usually cleans it but can be a grazer.

She's purring, we had poo (not a ton but some) last night, and pee. She always seems to preen so that's not a problem. These continual high numbers maybe making her feel blah, or the combo with her CKD? She's on Pepcid AC twice every 24hrs now...or maybe she just needs to poo, or is just being a cat :roll:

Random question...I bought a Bayer Contour and strips on ebay for backup, but the strips are expired in Nov last year :evil: They were cheap and the ad didn't say expiry, so my fault for not checking. I don't have control solution...anyone used expired strips for this, and their experience?

I'll try visit but I'm feeling pretty icky and may be lying down more than sitting up... :? Hope you are all having a good day, guys :-D .

I'm not sure about the strips...I don't have any "expired strip" experience, but it does look like Chyna is trying to work that dose! You can do it, girl!!

Gosh Rachel, I hope both you and Chyna get to feeling better. Hope you get some responses on your expried strips question. I'm always buying things last minute so haven't had an expired strips dilemma myself. Hopefully Chyna's gotta some better numbers just around the corner.

I've used Contour strips over a year beyond expiration.

I would go back and check the ad. If they didn't specifically say the strips were expired, you can return them. (They usually say they're expired in big letters.) Alternatively, test yourself and see what the numbers look like.

My thought was what Sienne suggested. Test yourself first. I hope China starts working the dosecrease soon. Sending prayers for you to feel better soon.

Thanks for visiting, and for the feel better/get good numbers/strips advice guys! I will check the strips on myself...I did check the ad a few times, and no mention of being expired or expiry date, I emailed and was told oh that must have been "a bug"? No returns. It's only 50 strips and not worth the trouble, they were cheap. I know better, I always check dates! ohmygod_smile

I spent most of the day in bed. I'm not feeling wonderful, but seeing Chyna climb the ramp and stare/look for her 4pm mini meal made me happy, as did seeing some yellows :-D

So sorry you're not feeling well today. :sad: Hope you start to feel better soon! Sounds like Chyna's a step ahead of you on that. :-D

I go through my strips so fast that I've never come close to the expiration date, so I can't chime in on that,even though I have a Contour. Other than poking yourself, if you have some that are not expired, you could use one of each with the same poke and see if you get the same result (assuming Chyna gives you enough blood with one poke - Cinco can be stingy at times, and others he doesn't want to stop bleeding!). Good luck with that. How aggravating. I'll admit I haven't always been good about checking the exp date before ordering, so I'm lucky I haven't gotten old ones.

Awwww, I'm so sorry that you're not feeling well. Too bad you couldn't feel good and still stay home, lounging in bed with the kitty! :-D That's my kind of work day...well, in my dreams! I like seeing that yellow from Chyna. Hope she continues to slide down to through the yellows and into the blues! Feel better, Rachel. Good night.

How sweet that Chyna came up the ramp to check on you. I sure hope she will get to her good dose really soon.

I've used some expired contour strips just as a backup and they were fine and read close to my main meter.

Tricia, thanks for the well wishes. Chyna isn't so much happy letting me get the first ear blood drop, so it's probably easier to do myself, haha. Sometimes we have gushers too :oops: .

Well, since we're pink, again, I guess it's bedtime. There was no cooperation on the pee either :YMSIGH: ...she'll wait till I'm sleeping :roll: Night Night LL. Here's hoping for a blue and green board tomorrow for all the kitties!
