Lastnight I saw blood in his urine and acting very strange. This morning he did not want to eat and so I did not give him insulin.

He is staying at the vet today for a full blood work and urinalysis. The doctor is recommending a appetite suppressant called Mirtazapine.

I am not familiar with cat medications. Should I allow them to give him Mirtazapine?

Giselle - Mirtazapine is an appetite stimulant that several people here have used. I've seen the drug is helpful to many kitties.
I'm sad Triton isn't well -- hoping he feels better soon:bighug:

Maybe it will be a UTI that can get cleared up with proper antibiotics.

I am glad Triton is home again. You should probably be testing for ketones daily, with inappetance and infection in the picture. Just a FYI, if they aren't eating, you are generally good to give a half dose. Insulin does more than just combat the carbs in food. Kitties having anaethesia who cannot eat, typically get a half dose.
I don’t see any signs of nausea. He didn’t vomit this morning.
Nauseous cats don't always vomit. They could lick or smack their lips, sometimes drink a lot of water or hang out by the water bowl, go up to food then sniff and walk away. Either Cerenia or ondansetron are used to treat nausea in cats. Cerenia if there is vomiting.

Paws crossed Triton eats well for you now.

I tested for ketones and he was at 3.1. He is also not snacking as much as he would but did eat all of his dinner for insulin time.

can you please clarify on the dosing. You think I should give him .50 instead of 1.25?

He didn’t need to have all of his food right away. It’s OK if eats the rest of the food later. Can you update the spreadsheet please.
