Good morning LL

We increased to 0.25 units last night, this was our first increase, and we have a couple of questions. It's only been 1 cycle, and her numbers have not really changed... if anything they have gone up a bit. Which made me wonder about NDW, how long does that normally last? Would this be considered NDW, or has she just not had time to see any effects from the new dose yet?

With Lantus, doses need to "settle" which allows the shed to catch up with a dose change. This is the rationale behind giving 3 days/6 cycles before making a dose change. I don't think you're seeing NDW. Sometimes, it's easier to not think of a test number as a single point. You need to keep in mind that there's variance attached with the meter so any test, really falls within as much as plus or minus 20% of what you're seeing on the meter. The 250 you saw on 1/12 is pretty much the same number as you saw this morning.

NDW lasts a cycle or two.

Gosh Linda, I would love to see some blue for Bailey (and for Weezer too btw!) but she has been flat yellow for like a week now. :shock: With occasional splashes of pink for some contrast. It's like I suddenly have a different cat!
