Hi everybody. I hope everyone is keeping warm. It sure has been cold and snowy here. (-25Cwith a wind chill of -35C here this morning).
Well today was Tori's visit to see Dr Doug for her chemo. Everything is fine. Her blood work is good and her physical exam was good too. Doug thinks he could feel 2 very tiny bumps on either side of her trachea but really isn't sure if its the lymphoma or "just her". Each would be about the size of the top of a pin so that is good. She is now up to 10lbs so there has been a little bit of a weight gain. We discussed whether or not to try and decrease her Prednisolone but decided seeing things are going well that it is probably best to just leave things alone and continue as is. Seeing Tori has both the Cancer and CP it is very unlikely that she will ever be able to go without the Pred. So we will just have to deal with that and control her BGs as best we are able. All things considered she is in pretty good control.
He wasn't able to give her the CCNU because it hadn't come in. I will be picking it up this afternoon or tomorrow morning. It's oral and because I am used to handling chemo drugs we decided that I can give it to her myself.
Actually it is just as well I think. Tori just isn't acting like her normal self today. At first I thought she was just ticked off for her vet visit. She even hid before I had a chance to get her carrier. She ate a small breakfast but hasn't eaten anything since she got back. I don't know. I think I'll hold off giving her the CCNU and if she doesn't eat normally by this evening I will give her some Bupe and fluids. Better safe than sorry. Hopefully it's just my imagination.
I hope everybody is doing OK. I've some things I have to run out and do so will check in later. I've got a lot of catching up to do.
