Re: 1/13 Willie AMPS 357
Really nice job last night, Christie! Hope you enjoyed your btb! Not surprising that Willie bounced.
In the future, if you get an Rx from your vet, you can order Lantus pens or cartridges from Canada Drugs Online. It's pretty cold now, and there is a danger of the insulin freezing during transport, so I would wait until the warmer weather. But it is a much cheaper way to get a 5-pack of Lantus pens or cartridges. Your vet needs to fax in the Rx, or you need to mail in the actual paper prescription. Once you've ordered and they receive the Rx, the insulin arrives in about 7-10 days. It is well packed. Here's the link.

p.s. Did I send you my "technique" for cutting down on air bubbles in the syringe? The most important thing to do is this:
Work the plunger back and forth; then PUSH it in FORCEFULLY and
HOLD it all the way pushed in while you insert the needle into the vial or cartridge. Then SLOWLY draw out a little more insulin than you need. This greatly minimizes bubbles, but if there should still be bubbles, flick them up to the top of the syringe. Then, slowly, TWIST the plunger until you arrive at your dose. Any air bubbles at the top will be expelled with the excess insulin. Twisting is more accurate than pushing.
I may already have sent you this technique. If so, sorry for the duplication.
