Hello Everyone,
Ruby is doing just fine with the home testing. Although, this morning, I couldn't get any blood. After trying about 4 times, I tried again and got
a big amount of blood. She moved her head and blood flew all over! Has this happened to anyone else? Did i just hit the vein?
It did scare me, but she stopped bleeding after putting pressure on it. I finally learned how to do her spread sheet, and I am learning a lot just by
having all of her BG readings in one place.
Thank you to all for your help.
Jen

i try not to...but i often hit the vein with Binks...
never has caused him problems...but spatters the reading glasses!

you're doing great!

Morning Jen! oh yes on the head shake and the blood splatter and the vein. we all do it... :-D applied pressure will stop it just fine. It's never caused any problems for Mannie either. There are days too where it's all one can do to get a blood drop. Eventually that too gets better.

I think you are doing great. It is so helpful to see all their numbers on a SS, isn't it? One learns do much by having everything in one place.

What a nice amps for Ruby - SWEET!

Have a great day guys!

hi Jen

nice work getting your SS going!
a comment...from your comments in your SS:

BG at 8:30 am was 131. Her AMPS is at 11 am

the 227 is the actual AMPS at your shot time of 11:00 (+12 on the SS cycle) (the AMPS & PMPS are on the +12 cell) u follow me? ok.

the 131 should go in last nite's row of the PMPS cycle, around +9.5 (which was around 8:30 am for you),.. if you test on the half hour, you can fill it in like this on the SS: 131 @ +9.5

I'm glad to see you are getting some mid cycle numbers, it does get easier to test, not saying u have to test a lot, unlike some of us, @-) but whatever you test, whenever it is, those nadir checks (mid cycle) will show a lot.
Don't forget thou, if one day u get lower than usual numbers anywhere in the cycles, you may have to test more frequently to make sure Ruby stays ok.
but like I said, it will get easier as you go along.

And yes! Blood splatter on the glasses right here too!
have a good nite!

Thanks for the help with the SS. I do understand what you are saying.
I will change it in a second.
Thanks again,
Jen
