Good day!

Things are returning to normal although Morgaine is a bit skittish about coming into the bedroom. I think she knows she misbehaved and doesn't want to repeat that scenario. I have decided that it is no longer going to rattle my cage. It is only pee and now that I have dealt with it, well, it is just pee! :smile:

Hey Rosalie, sorry to hear Morgaine had a little 'relapse'. How frustrating cat(2)_steam I am glad you are not letting it get to you. You have a great attitude about it, I admire that. We went through something similar with Bailey, we tried many different things - adding more litterboxes, using the Cat Attract litter, getting her checked for UTIs/crystals/other problems, several different medications, and she would get better - and then weeks or months later, it would happen again. In the end what turned the corner for us was Prozac. You are probably not ready to think about that yet, but I thought I would throw it out there. Bailey takes 1/4 of a 10mg tablet daily, it is generic and inexpensive, and has really made a difference. The only time she has peed outside of the litterbox since we started it, is when she was undiagnosed with FD and trying to get our attention. If Morgaine continues to have this problem, and you are able to pill her, you may want to talk to your vetty about it.

Pretty blue Morgaine! What's with the peeing girl? Mom doesn't pee in your bed!

Hi guys .. nice pretty blue for morgaine this morning! Glad that you have such a good attitude about morgaines "incident" You are right, it is just pee .. it could be a lot worse I guess! Have a great weekend!

Glad to hear she is doing better. I will echo Melissa. We used Prozac on Tarragon and it worked. He didn't have anymore "incidents" until he got FD. We had ours compounded into a fishy tasting liquid.

It seems that Prozac is regularly used for inappropriate peeing. I read somewhere that it had a 90% success rate in eliminating the behavior and that many cats need it for only a short period of time. I will give it some thought and discuss it with my vet. I am not sure I want to try it but I'll see what vetty says. Morgaine was given a different anti-depressant a few years ago because she was freaked out by our move to a different apartment. It was horrible. She became very vocal and "nervous". It seemed to have the opposite effect and I only had given her one dose. My vet at the time was very surprised but I did some reading about that particularly drug and many were saying the same things...do not use it on your cat. I wish I could recall the name of the drug. It definitely wasn't Prozac or any of the more common anti-drepressants.

I just cuddled Ms. M in the bed and gave her some treats. I want her to associate the bed with treats and cuddles and not with peeing and mamabean going a little crazy on her :smile:. She will do anything for the Pure Bite chicken treats. Kitty crack indeed!
