grr_red Our 1st UGH of the new year, drat. Looks like our big guy jumped on the trampoline direct from his slide yesterday. The boy does love his trampoline.
flip_cat We've been on this bottle of Lantus for almost three months, so we will start a new bottle at PMPS. The good news, his water consumption and peeing have been back to his "normal" since we've started adding more water to his fuds. Shopping trip for fuds and a new pee palace on our Saturday "to do" list.

@Roni & Moonie - Zener and the Moonster can compare belly cuts. ;-) We like your description of feeding and watering stations throughout your house. Hope you have a great Caturday! :-D

Wendy & Neko - thanks for the information, we will ask our vet office people about accessing the Idexx info on their website. We'll have a little time to hang out with them on Wednesday while waiting for Z's ultrasound. It would be really nice to have an easier to read copy!

@Amy & TrixieCat - fuds, glorious, fuds, we so wish our big guy was more food focused. We see Merrick's cowboy cookout as an option we haven't tried in a long time, so maybe he will like it now. Will check on a couple of others that Ann has on Tess's SS.

@Ann & Tess - ah, good to know you did that too with the lab results. I'm pretty sure not many people ask our vet for results. ;-)

@Ella & Rusty - that lagoon water must have been especially chilly yesterday because the mighty Z has run far, far away.

@Marje - thanks so much for the potassium lesson, our big guy is hanging at 4.5 so one less worry for now.

@Anne & Muffin - our AC report is in last night's condo, but it was pretty late when I posted it, so here it is again.

Your kitties love you both so very much! Queen Tillie is content and especially enjoying the heat of the sun when it comes thru the windows on these cold winter days.Zener has some kidney involvement but not an infection. At least not that I sense from him. The water drinking and extra peeing seems to be stress directly on the kidney's. What did the blood work show this week? Did the vet recommend anything?

Zener feel good these days. He is more energetic and playful. Is it possible to add plain pumpkin to his food? It is a great source of fiber....and will help the anal gland problem. Because it is high fiber - it should not impact his blood sugar very much. Start with a very very small amount added to his food. If he accepts that - then increase the amount slowly to 1 tsp per day."
We regularly check in with an animal communicator. She no longer lives here but consulted with us several times before moving and has met the kitties in person several times. She can also do check -in from a distance, so periodically we ask her how things are and if they have something they want us to know. She has been spot on with what is going on with Zener's health, every time we have asked her to check in when he isn't feeling well, it is quite remarkable.

Good Morning Mr. Z! Dat red and pink stuff is sort of stinky lookin' on you...BLUE and GREEN are much nicer! I'm glad you're feeling better tho'.

Anne/Liz - hope you're staying warm but you're both silly enough to WANT to go out in it! Silly beans... ;-) I'll stick with skiing in water in SUMMER! BIG HUGS!!!

Re: 1/12 Zener AMPS 411;+2 349

Morning guys sorry for the big bounce today, we have one of those too. Good luck with the kitty shopping, a pee palace lol!!! Hoe the fresh juice will do the trick to get Zener back on track. Happy Caturday and have a great day!

SLIDAGE!!!!! That's what we want to see from the Z-man! Sounds like you are getting the new dx under control. Have you considered raw? Several of the NV raw varieties are very low phos.

Thanks for the suggestion Ann! Zener has never been interested in raw foods before, so at present we have not considered raw. I gave it a go when he was diagnosed with FD and we were trying to get him off dry kibble and onto wet or raw. So for now, I think we will try to find some wet food he will eat.

ZENER!!!!! 4-1-1 ...did you need to call the information line?! The only information you needed was that number was too high!!!! Glad you hoped on the slide and came down to the blues! Interesting about the pumpkin and anal sacs. Curious how much it would affect BG. Hope you guys have a lovely day!

Hi and nice Zener slide. For a minute I thought I was in the wrong condo when I saw the 411! :o
That is so amazing your AC was on th spot with everything she said regarding Zener and Tillie. And the AC does this via E-mail, did you say? I've used the same one as Marje a couple times, and she is also awesome. Interesting with the pumpkin. I just tried the Cowboy Cookout with Mags this morning, and she loves it. It causes a bit of a spike in her with the carb sensitive thing, but it's a lower phosphorus food and very moist,
Thanks on the pic in Mags's condo, Detective Poo!  Nuttin to report though~

Re: 1/12 Zener AMPS 411;+2 349;+4 215;+6 160

I hope Zener keeps sliding right to the lagoon for you. I'm glad the added water to his food seems to be helping. It sounds like you're getting things under control. Hopefully you can find some food Zener will like that will help him.

Nice recovery after that AMPS, Zener! Lagoon later?

Good luck with finding some new fuds. We tried Rusty on Wellness Core Turkey and Duck today and he approved (so far). It's 5% carbs and not too high in phos. (middle 200s). The Wellness Core Chicken, Turkey and Chicken Liver is lower in phos. (215), but has salmon oil and Rusty is allergic to fish. But you might be able to try it with Zener. I remember reading once in something that Dr. Lisa wrote that Merrick's Cowboy Cookout is the "perfect" food for cats and as close as you can get to fresh mouse. It is beef-based (another of Rusty's allergies; Stu liked it a lot).

Have a good evening. Keep warm (it was in the 50s here today; ugh),

Ella & Rusty

Re: 1/12 Zener PMPS 127

Almost a classic Zener slide today, the "complete classic" Zener slide is one that continues in both cycles. We are grateful to say buh bye for now to that number that cannot be named.

01/12/13 Zener
AMPS 411, 23rd cycle @s0.75u
+2 349
+4 215
+6 160
PMPS 127, 24th cycle @s0.75u, new vial of lantus

@Deborah & Shasta -   We didn't even catch the 4 - 1 - 1! We're not sure how pumpkin will affect BGs, so maybe some more experienced eyes will weigh in on this one.

@Ann & Maggie - no kidding, we were  too, haven't seen one of those numbers in a while. We suspect Mr Liver still has issues. Thanks for the food tip, we are going to try it and see what happens. Zener may not be quite so carb sensitive since he is regular on medium carbs. Paws crossed for Mags -nificant movement later. ;-)

@carla - he's pretty close to the lagoon but we never really know what will happen. I don't have anything on my agenda for tomorrow so a PJ party would be convenient tonight, so not likely.

@Michelle & Mannie - yep, from the trampoline to the slide, where he stops, nobody knows.

@Ella - thanks for the food suggestions and information! We did not get out food shopping and new litter box shopping today after all. Wherever did the day go? :? So, this list will help us tomorrow when we make our shopping/buying fun. Sorry on the balmy 50s. It's frigid here, but no wind, thank goodness!

Hoping everyone in LL has a calm and peaceful Caturday evening. :YMHUG:

Re: 1/12 Zener PMPS 127

Whew! Good to see Zener slide out of that place we don't need to name! I guess he was just trying on all his suits for the party tonight. Still got one more to try. Best of luck in the fuds hunt when you get to it. I'm always a fan of the novel proteins as it's something different and seems to spark interest in my two. Their absolute favorite is kangaroo, but I haven't seen any in cans.
