Good Morning, Everyone,

We are being hit with a winter storm of "mixed" precipitation: snow, sleet, freezing rain, rain. UGH! Why can't we have snow and snow alone?? The part of the North Country we were in yesterday is "closed" this morning because of ice. Thank goodness we went to the dermatologist in Potsdam yesterday! It's not clear what our immediate area has in store for today. We are just hoping that there is not a big ice build-up. That could bring down power lines.

For the second day in a row we didn't hear the alarm clock and were woken by the furry alarm clock! Rusty was most insistent! But everything was only 10 minutes behind schedule. Tomorrow I will set the alarm on my phone as a back-up. We had a good test, breakfast (Wellness Turkey), shot, and a brushing/combing, some hairball gel, and a great play with the glitter-streamer wand and crinkle sack, the Gevalia box, and the cube. Rusty is now on his cushion by the radiator. Edward went btb (I can never go btb, only on rare occasions, like New Year's Day!)

Sending lots of healing vines this morning to Scruffy, Zener, Rocket, and to all kitties and beans who need them. Wishing you all a fine day,

Ella & Rusty

p.s. Thanks for visiting us yesterday on the occasion of my 2nd Anniversary on the FDMB!

Re: 1/12 Rusty AMPS 82

Morning!

Rusty - I like your amps. Well done! An excellent job too on making sure your beans woke up. You be good today, keep those greens coming. Stay warm.

oh my on your weather! Well - I am not a fan at all of freezing rains, or ice. Such havoc it causes. Hoping you just get the snow....

I am the same - never can go back to bed.

Have a god one today - hope the weather cooperates.

Re: 1/12 Rusty AMPS 82

Morning Ella and yikes on your weather! I wish for some nice snow for you all soon. Nice number for Rusty. We are impressed with his cycles, very nice! I did try the egg whites and surprise, she did eat some and left some on the plate. Glad you and Edward did make it to the Dermatologist today. I wonder is this good weather for the kitties to ice skate? Maggie says she needs to brush up on her twirling acts. Have a nice day.
It's a Sony cyber shot camera, pink  re my condo.

Re: 1/12 Rusty AMPS 82, +5.5 43

Hi again,
Rusty got FF T&G for lunch because of the 43! We may still have shed action from the skinny 1.75, but I'm pretty sure I shot the fat 1.50 this morning. Maybe take the fat off?

bbl, got to go shopping and take Edward to the chiropractor.

Very nicely done Rusty! I don't know on the reduction, it may be a little soon to reduce again. Are you doing just once under 50 for reductions?

Re: 1/12 Rusty AMPS 82, +5.5 43

Go, Rusty...GO!!

and in your condo yesterday, I believe we mentioned elegance...
which gave me a dubious but usable connection to post my favorite 2 minutes of
what I think is one of the finest musical numbers ever caught on film
(not the same song, but here you go!) :-D :-D

Re: 1/12 Rusty AMPS 82, +5.5 43

Rusty is certainly looking great!!! Here is a tidbit of info from Jill from our 1/8 Condo that might help you decide on the reduction (the bold is from me):

gracie's numbers and nadirs have been progressively trending higher as her shed was draining from the fat 1 unit (which is natural). it can take up to 3 days to drain the shed

If that is the case....you might want to give him just through today and see how he does and maybe reduce tomorrow if need be? Of course, she does say "can" and since ECID, that might not apply to Rusty. But
just thought I'd throw it out there.

Hope you all stay warm and safe inside. Good for Edward!!!! And Rusty is a smart guy staying warm at the radiator!!

Have a great day.

Hey Celi: yup, that's elegance, all right. Fabulous!

Hi Ann and Marje, My main problem is that I can't really tell the difference between a fat 1.50 and a skinny 1.75! I've tried measuring the drops (inconsistent) and also eyeballing. I was thinking that if I can just eyeball the dose at the edge of the syringe on the far edge of the 1.5-unit mark, it would still be a "fat" 1.5 and I would be sneaking the dose down by just a hair (and it would be easier to measure). Anyway, that's what I would like to do if Rusty's numbers continue in the present trend. We've completed 6 cycles on what I have been calling a fat 1.5 (a "hair" of light between the edge of the mark and the plunger) (if you count PMPS on 9 January, which was a toss-up between fat 1.50 and skinny 1.75).

I'm trying to base Rusty's reductions on the criterion of staying in the range of a normal cat. The "3-under-50" rule is too restrictive, in my opinion, because a number can be 1-point off and not qualify. I prefer to look at the whole picture.

Well, we'll see what he does tonight. If he bounces, all bets are off. Thanks for your input!

Ella

Re: 1/12 Rusty AMPS 82, +5.5 43, +7 58, +9 73, PMPS 101

Ella, I love how you explained your way of measuring that dose. I can't say it as well. I have the same problem with measuring the .75 and .5. Fats and skinnys are a matter of a hair's difference. One fraction of a drop can make a difference in a sensitive cat.
What a fantastic day for Rusty again. :-D

Gorgeous numbers for Rusty today. Wow  on that 43! Good thing for furry alarm clocks, what would we do without them?

Sure does sound like gross weather there today. We are still warm with no snow, so crazy for this time of year.

KTSS chicken soup sounds delish and I would love a KTSS visit! Maybe a massage is in order as well?

Have a great evening Rusty and Ella.
