First green during the day and followed by green at night :D, but with higher PSs than he's been having  maybe that's Purrdy's idea of a bounce :woot: He is so funny with his tests, when he hears an alarm go he heads straight for the testing zone and starts meowing up a storm until he is lifted into place - what a good kitty :)

Waiting for Vyktor to produce a vet sample , he's due a poo today too so fingers crossed the pee comes first! I caught a little in a spoon yesterday. It has little rust coloured floaties in it which I assume are blood cells and I could see plenty of further little clumps of it in his tray. Still doesn't seem to be having any pain or irritation upon urinating though.

OK Purrdy, time to do that splash down. I hear rumours there's a great pool party going on. Fantastic cycles yesterday. :D

More vines for Vyktor - good luck getting the sample.:bighug:

How nice on all those greens for Purrdy. :D How cute he comes running for his test when he hears the alarm.

I hope you get your pee sample soon and it's nothing serious with Vyktor.

The vet has kept Vyktor. He was going particularly beserko this morning and the vet couldn't get near him (my hand looks like it went through a shredder). He hadn't produced by the time we went so I took yesterday's urine sample. There was no blood in it so she thinks the floaties are tissue, there are some white cells but nothing else to indicate infection (I gave him his weekly BG test this morning - 79), the specific gravity was good . They are planning to gas him and give him a thorough examination, take bloods and probably x-rays. I blubbered of course, particularly concerning is that it's not his usual vet. We discussed if it might be cancer and she started talking about giving him steroids... I will know more in a couple of hours.

What a beautiful cycle for Purdee- WTG! I am so dense, I got confused I thought that Purdy belonged to Serryn, but I see Serryn's mom owns Purdy!

Serryn, I am sorry your vet had to keep Vyktor- my kitty Tiger had to stay at the vet for a few hours trying to get a sample, so I know how stresful it is! :bighug: Whatever is going on, I hope it is something that has an easy fix - sending tons of calming and stress relieving vines and hugs :bighug:

Hi Serryn,
Purrdy is doing great!
Many prayers and good thoughts for Vyktor. I hope his problem is nothing serious.

Hugs and scritches,

So, this morning when I said Vyktor was due for a poo... was he ever! His x-rays showed massive constipation (he has been pooing but it seems only the end bit). The vet manually removed some and then gave him a suppository and what came out was as long as Vyktor and almost as furry. That will teach me for slacking off on the brushing!

I'm still a little concerned though, it was a different vet I saw this afternoon and he didn't even realise that what Vyktor had been brought in for was the urinary issues. When I showed him the picture of the cloth I'd cleaned up the pee with yesterday he thought it was blood but he looked at the urine test results and wasn't concerned - it turned out to be lucky but if there was nothing to worry about why did this morning's vet want to keep him in?

When I described the rust coloured floaties I'd seen in the urine he thought they would be bladder cells and said it's normal to excrete those. The nagging doubt I have is that I remember reading amongst yesterday's googling that for some conditions blood is only in the end of the pee not the start (and vice verse). The sample I had was just from the start. I will call his regular vet tomorrow and see what he thinks, maybe another urine test is called for.

Hi Serryn. I hope Vyktor is feeling better very soon. Best wishes for continued success for Purrdy and well done to your mum and you too.

Hi Serryn :coffee::coffee::coffee:

Awesome job with Purrdy! Love all those greens from the day before. and the blues too! Well done little one.

Good vines for Vyktor. it's hard when we don't get our regualr vet. I alwys feel like I have to make sure they go through history, know what is up with the kitty I've taken in. Wishing you both good luck!

Purrdy is looking nice. Wow on that poo, Vyktor :nailbiting:!! I'm like you...I hate seeing or talking to anyone other than my own vet - the one who actually knows the cat and not just the tests. I hope you get answers on the urine issue soon....

Hi Serryn,
Vyktor must be feeling much better after having a good poop. (Do you know this website? http://www.felineconstipation.org/index.html. It is incredibly informative.) Is he drinking enough water? I hope you get some answers on the pee from your regular vet. Perhaps have them draw pee directly from his bladder (cystocentesis) and send the sample to a lab to do a Culture & Sensitivity to see if there is infection.

Sending vines to Vyktor!

Hugs, scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Yo Purrdy, I hope we get to the lagoon at the same time today.

Oh my goodness, Vyktor. I suspect you're much more comfortable now that you've had the poop experience you've had! Wozeeeee. Sending vines the urine issue is no big deal.

Looking nice in that long, green surf Purrdy. Today's doing well, too.

:bighug::bighug::bighug: If Vyktor was that backed up I wonder if the pressure and discomfort could have been at least partially responsible for the peeing issues.

Day old samples can degrade, even half an hour can make a differrence. I would ask why, since they had him staying there and had him under, they didn't do a cystocentesis? That is the most accurate was to take a urine sample. Or maybe they did? the expensive part of the test is sending it out for C&S, but they only need to do that if they see bacteria in the urine under the microscope. The C&S is Culture and SEnsitivity, it cultures the sample bacteria and determines which AB is most effective.
