These are some of the highest numbers we've seen consistently during the day since the week of Christmas :(

I feel like he needs one dose in the AM and a smaller dose in the evening. I think we will go back up to the 0.25 and I will try feeding the higer carb food with his +2 and+5 snacks. Will likely switch to TR also...not sure what else to do.

TR questions:
Hold a dose until you get a reduction value or you start to see numbers within a normal BG range consistently ( 1 week), right?

Hi Ari, Happy New Year!
The fur shot on Jan 10th could have disrupted the depot a bit, I know seeing the higher preshots can be disheartening, but remember you want to see how low the dose is taking Makoto in making dosing decisions. The am preshot number is usually the last to come down, it can be elevated due to stress hormones being released - it is known as the dawn effect. It happens in people with diabetes too...

From what I understand, because of the depot nature of Lantus, it is not really an effective method to dose differently in the am and pm, you just keep disrupting the depot, which can result in wonky cycles. Maybe others with more experience will chime in.

With TR you can evaluate after 6 cycles, and increase if necessary. Your reduction point with AT2 would be 68 with TR. I'm glad you saw the info on using food to manipulate the curve, I've been off the board for a bit, hope it helps you. If you have questions, just shout. Makoto's cycles are looking quite lovely overall!

I don't believe the fur shot due to the numbers.. I meant to take it back out ;)
I know I can't do the different dose ... total bummer. It just seems like he definitely has different needs overnight. It's just so hard to have blues for a week and then feel like I am losing all that progress. Thank you for the TR clarification. The more I read it , the more I confused myself about holding a dose and how long to do so... I think I am going to make the switch to try and hold onto the blue and maybe get him more blues. I might cheat the numbers a bit and not take reductions unless he is under 65/60 more than 3x ( I am thinking of getting a human meter- just so I can adequately track what's what )

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!
