Finally, a morning we wake up to a blue number. Admittedly his diet is awful, he is getting worse with his pickiness. Yesterday was not a good day for us, Jack was fine, just dealing with emergencies for one of my other cats and my sister, so not much testing got done. I'm hoping that this morning's 171 is a sign of being on the right dose despite Jack's ridiculous food intake. His ketones are where they normally are- I never see anything below 0.2 on the ketone blood meter, vet claims some cats have a minimal amount in their blood at all times...I don't even know what/who to believe anymore. This whole journey with Jack is just so different from the one I took with my Mopooma. I know every cat is different, but Jack seems determined to do the exact opposite of what he needs. That being said, he is acting better, and his coat is looking better than when he was first diagnosed, almost a year ago, so I guess we have made progress. It's just so difficult to see that on a daily basis when the picky beast refuses to eat anything he should and we bounce all over with BG numbers and insulin doses.

I suspect he saw even more blues overnight. I hope you are right that he settles down to good nadirs on this dose. Sometimes you just have to do the best you can, given the circumstances. It sounds like you are seeing some progress in him. I do admire your perseverance.
