China's had another good day, but boy has she been driving me crazy!! All morning she kept acting like she was starving to death, so of course I worried she was dropping too low (but she wasn't).....Glad she's going to the Full Wolf Moon party tonight.....there's plenty of food there!!

We're battening down the hatches and preparing for a storm here!! They upgraded our Winter Storm Watch to an Ice Storm Warning and mid-Missouri is in the eye of predicted worst of it

Good thing I got out today and am fully stocked up on cat food!! At least the cats will have food!!

If we lose power, the only way I have to cook is electric so I'm really hoping that when the electric company came through this summer and almost killed off our trees by over-trimming, that it at least keeps the heat on!

Should be interesting...Of course living in Missouri all my life, I've learned one thing....Usually the louder they scream about how bad it's going to be, the less we actually get! However, if they say "this one's going to pass us by", you'd better be prepared for a bad one!

Got DM out to get her hair done and did a lot of shopping so she'd have plenty of stuff in case I can't get over there for several days so I guess we're about as ready as we're going to be

China, you be a good girl at the party tonight...I don't want to hear any more bad reports or see any more wild party pictures on your phone!!
 
Sounds like you are about as prepared as you can be for such a forecast. Happy you got out and about with your Mom.
China can only party so hearty cause who knows what Uncle is up to lately?
 
Nice numbers for China today. I hope you don't get hit that bad. It's good you got out and got stocked up on things just in case.
 
Hope your hydro doesn't go out. Stay warm. Fill up a thermos bottle with boiling water. Replace every couple of hours to prevent cooling. At least you could make a hot beverage. You've got salt and sand? Non-clumping litter? Don't want you literally flying out the door.

I've got some "pet safe" ice melt stuff.....it's really kind of fun to watch when you sprinkle it on ice/snow.....and I bought some windshield defroster stuff so IF I have to get out, at least I should be able to get into the car (I have no intention of scraping that much ice, but I need to be able to get IN the car to start it and let it run the defroster for awhile)
 
Hey Chris , did u see latest forecast ?? Now we r in the up to one inch of ice band :nailbiting:...like u, living here all my life , the watch word is "we shall see"...glad u and DM are prepared for whatever . Freaky that it's 10 years to the day of the 07 ice storm :woot::woot::woot:. Stay warm and safe !!

Nah....I'm to the point now where I'll just look out the door tomorrow....if there's no ice, I'll head to the store because although I did get DM's shopping done (and of course stocked up on cat food for China and the civvies), I didn't get anything for me!!

If there's ice, I'll close the door and wait for the electricity to go out o_O

I'm also hoping for that "temperature change of just one degree" that can significantly impact the amount of ice we get ;)
