Max had some asthma problems early this morning. Ate well though and now he’s a sleepy head. We did go ahead and increase to 10. It feels like we are headed back in the wrong direction after SRT back in October, but hopefully it will turn around soon for him. So I guess we are doing NDW today. The asthma attack certainly didn’t help that either. Seems like Max is either bouncing or having NDW or some other problem causing high BG. I know that the 5 P’s are reassuring when they are all there, but I cannot help but get so discouraged by these high numbers we can’t seem to get away from. Max is not feeling well today probably because of the asthma so maybe once that improves, he will too. Has anyone else had such a difficult time with their cat? I’m sure there are plenty of others, but I just feel like I’m failing Max. Oh these moods I get into because of this awful acromegaly that my sweet boy has to endure. He is such a wonderful boy and doesn’t deserve any of this.
Remember, a cat is more than their numbers. I'm glad to read you are seeing the 5 P's at times. Enjoy the good times when you see him. It will get better. SRT can take a while to start working and then go in fits and starts. Also, you are doing everything possible you could for Max. The rest is up to his body.
Lori, I totally understand this. I was the same way. My moods rose and fell with my sweet boy’s BG (an inverse relationship.) Sometimes it all seems so futile. But it is not and we keep trudging along.
