Cosmo had a great day yesterday and overnight going between yellow and blues. He did have a few steep drops and rises, so I’m not sure if he will bounce today? We will see.

After his +4, (I was up watching a movie), DH set an alarm for +7 and he was safely in yellow. Cosmo woke us up early meowing at the foot of our bed. We did a +9 and he was 135. Not an unsafe number, but nearly a 100 pt drop in 2 hrs. He had a good snack (his normal pre fast snack), and came up a fair bit at +11, then again for AMPS.

So now we are up, had breakfast and I’m feeling like a nap is in our plan for the day :p

Just here to see what Cosmo has planned for your stay-cation ;) Beautiful beach time yesterday - hope he slides down for you today :bighug:

And there is the bounce...:(

Just too many fluctuations and bobbles last night. Wondering how I could have fed him better?

Extra tsp MC at +11
He had his regular dinner at PS (1/4 can MC and 11pcs kibble)
Extra tsp MC at +1
Regular snack at +2 (1/4 can MC and 11 pcs kibble)
Extra tsp MC at +4
Extra tsp MC at +7
Regular snack at +9 (1/4 can MC)

Hmmm...

That’s a lot of extra food, no?
FWIW, I reduce food from meals/snacks when I feed the curve...Jax is at a fine weight (not trying to lose or gain)...I can't recall if Cosmo's weight is okay - So in your example, one option could be:

Extra tsp MC at +11
He had his regular dinner at PS (1/4 can MC and 11pcs kibble) (MINUS 1tsp)
Extra tsp MC at +1
Regular snack at +2 (1/4 can MC and 11 pcs kibble) (MINUS 1tsp)
Extra tsp MC at +4
Extra tsp MC at +7
Regular snack at +9 (1/4 can MC) (MINUS 2tsp)

I also try my best to keep Butters' daily food allotment the same for each cycle but just spread it out differently depending on her numbers. She gets roughly 56 - 64 grams food per cycle. I'll split it into four equal portions when she is flat. When she is active, I generally feed 5 - 8 grams at a time based on the number that I'm seeing.

Occasionally if she keeps dropping below 50 then she'll end up getting more food, but that's rare.

I’m feeling like a nap is in our plan for the day :p
Butters approves!!:cat:

On a fairly flat cycle that sounds good to spread it out and give less. He typically grazes on his +2 food for a few hrs, so it probably works out that way.

I think what I am wondering, when it comes to feeding to try and avoid a bounce when he starts fluctuating like that, is should I have given a little HC at some point?
