It's raining outside but there are BLUE skies inside!! Looks like we've broken the bounce! Yay!!

A little stress this morning. Matt woke me up telling me to come downstairs thanks to a tornado warning. So I grabbed Cobb and crated him up in the closet with us. Imagine...two adults, a baby and a cat in his carrier in a closet under the stairs. Not a ton of room - but I can't stand it when I see animals left behind on the news. :-x I know it's not always the owners fault but if I can get to Cobb, he's coming with us. Anyway, off my rant!!

Cobb didn't seem extremely interested in eating this morning. But I'm noticing he's not finishing everything I give in his feeder. That coupled with the lower numbers suggest he's regulating and it as hungry, yes? I know he eats too much as it is now so cutting back slowly isn't bad, as long as he doesn't lose too much weight too quickly.

Cobb is also hanging out downstairs more than before. But thunderstorms today so testing is gonna be difficult!! He's a scaredy cat.

I leave you this morning with a picture of my two babies playing nicely together.

Re: 1/11 Cobb AMPS 176

Hi Suzanne,

What a nice AMPS number for Cobb! And I love the picture :-D How scary on the tornado nailbite_smile I am glad that you were able to put Cobb under the stairs with you. It is heartbreaking when pets get left behind.
Cleo is always less hungry when she is in blue colors. When she is dropping quickly or when she is high, her appy is much bigger.
Have a great Caturday - hoping for not too much thunder. I have scaredy cats too!

Re: 1/11 Cobb AMPS 176

Thanks!!

Btw...please pardon the mess in the picture! As you can see, the sterilite container, laundry basket and boxes are being used as a barrier to the fireplace right now. We're trying to contain a very mobile baby bean!!

Re: 1/11 Cobb AMPS 176

Beautiful Blue!!! Looks so pretty, those kinds of numbers beside his name :-D And congrats on your GREEN surf!
Scary on the tornado warning. Glad nothing came of that, and yes it is terrible to see when animals get left behind in big storms and disasters. Lucky Cobb, he won't be one of them  So much for getting your Z's during a bounce eh!
That picture is adorable. Cobb looks very interested to see what the wee bean is playing with
Have a beautiful day Suzanne!

Re: 1/11 Cobb AMPS 176

Happy Caturday Suzanne. I hope the rest of the day is less scary than the start. Yikes on having to hide with the loved ones under the stairs.

Very nice start there Mr. Cobb. I love how he's clearing those bounces so much faster now.

Very cute pic of your two. No need to apologize on the scene - some of us have rugs with cat toys strewn around like that too.

Re: 1/11 Cobb AMPS 176

Hi Suzanne,

Sorry about the tornado warning. Glad you are safe. I like the picture of your babies, how cute. It is nice to see blue numbers near Cobb's name.

You must be one busy lady at night. Hopefully the baby sleeps at night?

Looks like it's shaping up to be a nice day! (Anti-jinx)

Haha. I wish! The busiest part of the day is around 8pm. Baby goes to sleep. Hubby going to sleep. And Cobb's test/shot time. The baby sleeps fine if he's in with us. Otherwise, he wakes up a lot. He's rolling over into a crawling position right now and waking himself up. But it's ok. I love getting all the snuggles I can...baby or cat!

Re: 1/11 Cobb AMPS 176 +3.25 157

i've always thought you can't have children without a mess. they bring it. but now that my kids are grown, somehow i still have the mess. i'm looking at the living room floor right now with 2 empty cardboard boxes, one to occupy and one with a peephole , cut out of it, an area 6'x4' covered with tissue paper, 2 large cat toys on the hearth, a pile of cat toys under the coffee table, and some coffee table papers that "someone" racing across the coffee table after a toy that got thrown shot off with their feet.

oh, and 1 cat, anya, occupying the tissue paper mess like royalty on her throne. McGee is on my lap, as usual. Frodo just hopped up to join him. i have the ability now to type with my arms around 2 cats on my lap and my netbook on my knees.

it's a happy scene!

Cobb is a new kitty! i thought he was looking at whatever matty's got in his hands and Cobb was wondering if it might be edible. :-D This is thrilling to see. He's dropping at a nice slow pace. Punkin was mostly a flatter curve cat and it looks like Cobb might be too. he's only dropped 19 points in 3.25 hrs. That's just perfect.

You've got a happy scene too! Blue Cobb, happy baby, no tornado, and playful, not starving kitter.

Have a great day.

Re: 1/11 Cobb AMPS 176 +3.25 157

What a wonderful turnaround for Cobb!! Are you sure a spaceship didn't drop by in the wee hours of the morning and take the "real" Cobb and leave you an impostor?

So cute with Cobb and baby bean!! And so great to hear that he's being more social and loving too!

Glad the tornado passed you by. Bet that was a "cozy" area with all of you in there!!

Keep it up Suzanne and Cobb! You're looking SO great!

Re: 1/11 Cobb AMPS 176 +3.25 157

Hi there

Tornado warnings are scarey indeed, as a kid in Chicago we used to have 'tornado drills' in school. . . You guys have a plan and sprung into action! Well done!

I saw you added feeding notes to the ss - wonderful! Based on your comment about the timed feeder and not knowing when he actually ate.. . .

I remember when the same thing occurred to me - when did BK finish that last meal deployed by the feeder? Did it influence his PS? There was no way for me to know, particularly since BK lives in a building separate from our house (BK Central).

Here is the solution I came up with, for both AM and PM cycles:

PS - Shot time - fed by one of us
+4 - timed feeder mini meal
+8 - timed feeder mini meal
+10 -timed feeder - 1 chunk of freeze dried chicken breast treat (kitty crack)

This way I could be sure the PS was not food influenced and he wasn't tortured by the feeder deploying annd nothing being there.

Re: 1/11 Cobb AMPS 176 +3.25 157 +7.5 124 +10.5 157 PMPS 184

Thanks Sandy! I figured one problem out with the feeder so hopefully it will work better now.

It was a nice day surfing in the blues. I expect some higher numbers overnight and possibly tomorrow though. Matt shot Cobb tonight because the baby was crying so I went back to help after testing and feeding and I completely forgot his shot!! So he got it about 10 minutes late and Matt said Cobb walked away while he was giving it. His hands didn't feel wet but they smelled like the Lantus. It happens.

Hope everyone had a great Caturday!

A solid Blue cycle today! :-D
And the second one at this dose !

Bummer about the potential partial fur shot - they do happen.
(if I had a nickle for evey fur shot I did. . . )

Re: 1/11 Cobb PMPS 184 +2 167 +5.25 63

Here we go again...Mr. Greenie decided to show up. Why can't it be a safer low number like...90?!

Re: 1/11 Cobb PMPS 184 +2 167 +5.25 63

me thinks your DH got the insulin in!

wouldn't it be nice if cats would do this during the day instead?

test again in 30 minutes? you doing ok?

Re: 1/11 Cobb PMPS 184 +2 167 +5.25 63

I know, right?! It's so weird because I just wake up and turn over and then think, huh I should just get a test in now. And then I find it's low. Matt was jostled a bit and said, so what was it? When I told him he said, even though it didn't all get in?! I said, I guess it did get in!

I'm good. Just tired. Took awhile to get the baby down. We're trying to transition him back to him crib. In the past month he's cut several teeth and it's been impossible to get him to sleep in his room. So tonight we moved him back and I've been up several times - seeing him standing in his crib on the monitor. doesn't he know that's dangerous?!

Re: 1/11 Cobb PMPS 184 +2 167 +5.25 63

Whoa this caught my eye, too. Cobb is rocking along!!! Love the pic with Matty. What fireplace?

Hope you get back to bed soon.

Re: 1/11 Cobb PMPS 184 +2 167 +5.25 63 +5.75 60 +6.25 65

Ok. So Cobb did start to come up on his own at +6.25. He is also hungry, which is understandable since he last ate about 6 hours ago. This feeder is wearing on my nerves. So I gave him a little bit of his regular LC food.

Test in an hour?

What's with the feeder?

The feeder has little tabs to set for when it advances. It can be set to advance for up to 5 days, so it's probably meant to advance once a day even though it has hour markings on it. I can't get the tabs closer than 6 hours apart, and even then they will come times advance early or late.

The 96 is probably a little food induced. Matt is up for work in 2 hours. I'll have him check then.
