You might want to add a snack at +1 (if he isn't already getting one) to reduce that dive at onset. You could feed a part of his PS meal at +1 so he isn't too full to eat.

Butch usually leaves about 2 tsp of his PS meal and I give it to him as the +2 snack, but I'll add it to the +1.
