Well, except for that AMPS, today has been a much better day for Miss China!!

She started out on the beach, but she's been paddling around the rest of the day :D:D:D

Found out today that the lady that's been cleaning for DM gave herself a raise when I checked DM's account balance and saw the account had been charged $25 for an overdraft fee! It's really hard to balance a checkbook when you don't know what checks are being written!!

Of course she says she discussed it with DM who told her it wasn't a problem (and doesn't remember any such discussion) but DM is on a tight budget and she really can't afford it.....besides that, she was already making $45 for (usually) less than 3 hours work and now she thinks she should get $55!! Most housekeepers around this area make about $10/hour so she was already getting 50% more than most.....so I guess I'm either going to have to find someone else or figure out how to deal with it (or have her only come every other week which would probably be OK when it comes to "cleaning" but mom needs laundry more often than that)

On top of that, since the "stalker" lady started showing up, mom keeps running out of stuff ...first it was toilet paper, then Kleenex and cat food....I bought a 12 pack of canned food yesterday on our way home from the cardiologist and when I went over this afternoon, there were TWO cans left!! There's NO way her little 8lb cat could eat 10 cans in 24 hours!! As much as the stalker lady keeps telling me that she doesn't want to be accused of things disappearing, I can't help but think that we never had these problems with stuff disappearing until she came into the picture.

The fun just keeps on coming!!

At least my little China makes me smile (when she stays nice and green anyway!)

Chris, that is so creepy. Caring for elderly parents is a huge job so to add in this kind of garbage is not ok at all. My momma goes in in February to a pain specialist. She was too high risk for hip replacement so they have tried other things but it is time for some cortisone in the bum...so says Dr. Me;)...seriously, you are a wonderful daughter...your momma is very blessed to have you:bighug:

How crazy.

Yeah it really is....I prefer to think people are honest and caring until I'm proven wrong, but the fact that we never had these problems of "stuff" disappearing before Connie the stalker showed up, I can't help but think there's a connection

I told DM tonight that if Connie is in her apartment from now on, she needs to be right there with her....watching her like a hawk

Oh wow! This is a problem!!! I wouldn't want someone I don't trust at my house or my families house. I would definitely find someone else! These are just the things you 'see'... what about what you don't see. My grandma is elderly and has had a housekeeper for years. She had to fire a few and one was very memorable because she kept stealing her stuff. I would be vary wary...

Ya for China's greens today! Ozzy is looking up to her!

Hate to add that most people aren't. I hate to say that....but in most cases it's true. I'm not a Debbie Downer...but would be cautious of strangers coming into my home. Hope everything works out. Yes, stalk like a hawk!!

They're two separate people.....mom's housekeeper (who gave herself a raise) has been with her for about 3 years and we've never had any problems with stuff disappearing

The "stalker" lady (Connie) is another resident in the apartment building my mom lives in who just moved in a few months ago and took an "interest" in mom to the point where she was almost always down there. I'd call and she'd answer the phone.....If I DID get mom, she'd take the phone from her.....but she was also helpful in that she started cooking and taking food down to mom who really doesn't eat enough or very well so it's been a mixed bag (although I said from the first day that my "spidey senses" said something was off about her)

It's just since Connie came into the picture that things have been walking out the door (it seems)....Now mom has dementia/alzheimers and I know she doesn't always remember what she does and sometimes does stuff without any thought processes at all, but there's NO way her 8lb cat ate 10 cans of FF in 24 hours.....so where'd the food go?

I hope she heeds your advice. Connie sounds like a parasite to me. I'd suggest a locking cabinet, but your DM would forget where she put the key.

China, nice job getting back on duty before a dosecrease threat was issued. Gotta stay a step ahead of the bean!
;)
