Great start for the morning!!! I knew he was going to have a nice number because he was CLAMORING for his food this morning!! Would not stop bellyaching about my inability to get his food in front of his face fast enough!! :lol: Unfortunately, today WOULD be the day I couldn't get any blood from his ear. This hasn't happened since the first two weeks of his diabetes diagnosis. Of course, I finally looked at the lancet device after multiple pokes with hardly any blood to see that the depth had accidentally been changed. I fixed that and then, for some unknown reason, my meter stopped working. Finally got enough blood on the strip and the meter face was blank. Tried changing the battery...nothing. Used my backup meter and finally got things done. Poor baby was so hungry and frustrated by this time, I thought he was going to cause himself an injury!! For this patience, I gave him an extra dollop of food. Now, let's see if he can coast along in the green lagoon or if he's going to insist on climbing a floor or two.

Off to work I go. I'll be back shortly to visit condos. Everyone have a fantastic Friday!!!

All that Drama for a simple little sample of blood, who'd a thunk that ohmygod_smile . I'm glad you had back ups otherwise, you know who may have just clawed your eyes out for some noms. I can just see him sitting there patiently wondering when is my human going to get it together and feed me.

Maybe your lancet and meter/strips are telling you something!! Champ is on a mission?

Hi guys .. awww poor champ, had to wait extra long for his fuddies this morning .. thank goodness for the extra dollop :-D Now surf those greens champ! have a great day guys!

What a great number for Champ to start his day with! :mrgreen: I can just feel the frustration when all that starts to go wrong :? And the kitty is like, where is the fuds!! Hope Champ continues a beautiful surf :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

I've done the not enough blood on the strip and scrambling to get another while holding the ear I poked to switch it (I now leave the strips container on the bed with the supplies ;-) ) and the not good enough pokes but I go freehand and the kitty is going :roll: I'm glad sweet Champ finally got his breffis, phew! Poor Champ. I hate it when things like that happen. I bet he loved the extra fuds. I hope he surfs for you today. :mrgreen:

Those silly little meters - there isn't much that can go wrong with them, but somehow they manage to frustrate the you-know-what out of us sometimes! angry(2)_cat I hardly ever need a second strip - unless I forget to bring the container with me! :lol: :lol: :lol:

Hope Champ stays green for you all day, Patty. :-D

I decided to take a little nap right after Champ's +5 (11 a.m.). I didn't have any work so I figured, why not? Well, my DD wakes me up at 4 pm. WHAT?!! :o I cannot believe I slept for five hours!!! It felt good, though. Of course, Champ probably hit some lower numbers while I was sleeping and, thus, that pretty yellow PMPS. Hopefully, he won't go much higher. He's been doing so well and I would hate to think I messed it up by taking a super long nap that felt oh so good!!
 
Human cat naps are the best...especially for us diabetic kitty owners! Loved hearing about Champs exuberance this morning!!!! :lol: :lol: I love when Shasta gets that way. HATE when we have meter issues or lancet issues...also stinky - syringe problems. grrrrr...stupid air bubbles. I hope he has a nice slide down for you tonight and I hope you get a nice "nap" this evening!!! :-D Sleep well, Patty!
