Zener is doing fine this morning. Appy is very happy: he ate all of his breakfast on his footstool instead of me chasing him around with a bowl. Yard patrol completed, very brief. Looks like his bounce is clearing in a very sane manner.

Happy New Year LL! I did not see the ball drop in Times Square, even with a 2 hour time difference.  We did have our own Pine Cone drop here in Flagstaff and it was packed, even though is was very cold last night. I wasn't there, I saw a picture in the paper. And still is cold, 6 F. I'm going skiing (cross-country) when it gets to 20. Black-eyed peas are cooking.
Liz

Re: 1/1 Zener AMPS 172

Oooooh, black-eyed peas, with rice and bacon.....oops, I project :-D

Very nice blue start to Zener's day. Hope he surfs nice and blue, so you get to go skiing, Liz. :-D

Have a wonderful New Year day.

Re: 1/1 Zener AMPS 172

Happy New Year, Ann and Liz!!! Pinecone drop!?? That sounds very interesting. Here in Atlanta, we have the Peach Drop, basically a big fake orange peach.

Zener is starting off the new year with a nice blue number. Keep it up!!!

Have a great day, you three!

Nice bounce clearing there Zener! Well done, looks like a beautiful blue and green day for you. Surf well, so your bean(s) can go and ski. very good too on the fuds eating. :-D

LOL: and didn't make the time square thing either... or the local one here.... but I did see the photo of the pine cone drop in Flagstaff. Alot of brave souls out in all that cold... BRRR!

Enjoy your day Liz - I hope it is a good one!

Re: 1/1 Zener AMPS 172;+2 130

Hi Liz, that pine cone drop thing sounds interesting! :-D I didn't see the ball drop either! Nice report on Zener. Breffifs on the footstool  Mags sometimes has her meals on her footstool recliner, too! Yum, sounds like a wonderful dinner. Happy New year to you, Anne, Zener & Tillie.
Detective Poo, thanks for checking in on Mags.

Re: 1/1 Zener AMPS 172;+2 130

Morning guys, nice bounce clearing! Happy New Year! Have fun skiing and bundle up brrrrrr.... LOL on chasing Zener around with the bowl. I do the same with Scrabble if he doesn't finish, I think he just likes me to bring the food to him. Hope you have a fun day!

Re: 1/1 Zener AMPS 172;+2 130

Wow, that's some pinecone! Looks like Zener may have a busy day planned today with that +2. Happy New Year to you all!

Re: 1/1 Zener AMPS 172;+2 130;+4 96

I was imagining a little wee pine cone, not a big giant one! Pretty funny though

Very nice numbers this morning for Zener, and good news on the good appy this morning.

Hope you have a wonderful New Years.

party_cat Happy 2013 LL!

Well, it's not quite 20 degrees, but hardy MamaBeanLiz is out for a cross country ski. With such cold overnight temps, the fresh powder from yesterday is still squeaky, so perfect for skiing! :-D Zener is starting the New Year off much different than 2012 and we are so grateful. He just came in from the backyard with me. I filled the bird feeders and he gave me a lovely sample to test for ketones - negative for both ketones and glucose!
:RAHCAT

@Barb & Checkers - well, there will be some ham involved but no rice - a mess of greens and maybe some cabbage, we'll see. Zener is in the green lagoon and I have the morning duty now so Liz can get in a ski. I'll get in a walk or snowshoe later this afternoon when it warms up! ;-)

@Georgia & Simon - our pine cone is the same as your peach. Several years ago, the downtown businesses started this to get the desert dwellers to come up for the holiday even if there was no snow for skiing. The first one was an aluminum garbage can with a string of white holiday lights. Liz posted a link to a picture, it is quite fancy now. My how far we have come! Zener, Tillie and I managed to stay up to welcome in the new year, but we forgot to watch the ball drop in Times Square.

@Michelle & Mannie - Liz has a big pot of black eyed peas cooking, enough for you all to come on over! This is a record bounce clearing for the big guy. And the best part of all is happy appy!

@Ann & Maggie - our kitters are so funny with their special test and feed spots. We are always so happy to see him get on his footstool because it means he wants to eat. And the second tell is he sticks one paw out while he is waiting for us to get his bowl ready. We love that paw! :-D Happy Poo Year to you and Ms Mags!

@Michelle & Scrabble - after he eats a little, we pile up what's left and add a little fortiflora and follow him to the next eating station. Liz calls it his "progressive dinner". The nice part of our dry cold is if you layer properly, no need to really get too bundled up when exercising. Once you get moving, you aren't cold. I never understood that growing up in the south and then living in the midwest with all that damp and humidity.

@Anne&Muffin - we never really know what Zener has planned for us. He is such a surprise junkie.

We wish everyone in LL a wonderful start to 2013! drinking24

Re: 1/1 Zener AMPS 172;+2 130;+4 96

Zener is starting 2013 with beautiful numbers - woo! I didn't get to see anything drop. We came home from fireworks and visiting at a friend's house and I think I fell asleep at about 11:45pm @-)

On my condo, one of you had asked if I use calipers. Indeed I do! http://www.harborfreight.com/4-inch-digital-caliper-47256.html
I love, love, LOVE them! I also use Terumo syringes, which appear to be fairly consistent and true to the measurements.

Hope the new year brings happiness and good health to all!

Re: 1/1 Zener AMPS 172;+2 130;+4 96;+5.5 105

@Tracy & Leo - for those of us who don't want to go out in the cold there are re-enactments at home with dropping of a pine cone from our yard. Hope you and the master mouser have a good new year. :-D

@Tara & Buster - that was Liz, she will sign her posts and I just use our signature Anne & Zener. Boy howdy, did bean anxiety go down with those calipers! Marje is the one who turned us on to those, thank goodness. We tried the Terumo syringes after getting disgusted with the quality of the monojets we had been using for a long time. We just couldn't get adjusted to the Terumos, probably like teaching an old cat new tricks. Happy new year to you and Buster!

Alrighty, now that the mighty Z has stopped his dropping, no more pokies until PMPS - woo hoo! dancing_cat

A good appy and a nice blue/green surf is a great way to start out the new year. Way to go Zener! I love using calipers to measure Furball's dose. I can't believe how off the markings on some of the syringes are.

NIce numbers for Zener to start off the new year  The pine cone drop looks fun. Happy 2013!

Re: 1/1 Zener AMPS 173

What a nice day for Zener!!!

For the firs time ever, I slept through the ball drop myself...DH sort of woke me up (or tried to) a few seconds before, but it was very short-lived.

Keep up that lovely surf, Z!!

HAPPY NEW YEARS, LIZ, ANNE, ZENER & TILLIE! party_cat

6 F  I might die! (you can probably tell I'm a Florida girl, through and through! brrr) Looks like a lovely day for Zener! Granted, we didn't know you guys this time last year, but I love hearing that Zener is soooooo much better than he was last year! cat_pet_icon

Hope you all are staying warm and hope Liz had a good ski today! Happy New Year!

Re: 1/1 Zener AMPS 173;+2 147

Yet another great day for Zener. He is celebrating in style. Happy New Year Anne, Liz, Zener and Tillie!!

And Brrr!! on your temperature. Zener is a very brave cat to go outside and help fill the bird feeders in that weather. Much less using the icy LB!
