Hi all,

Yesterday’s post:

Threw up some food last night - not a scarf and barf this time though. It was 2 hours after his last snack. Then he refused a snack last night along with his AMPS meal this morning, both chicken pates. This is new behavior for us. Maybe he’s just tired of the plain chicken?

Thankfully, I have gotten him to eat other flavors since.

Happy New Year! - Tim

Hey Tim, Ailish’s new CG went through a similar thing with her a day or two ago and I went through it in November. Both times the appetite bounced back. Glad to hear Pookie ate something once you switched flavors, guess he said “new year, new flavor” lol

Haha, I guess so! Did you end up circling back to the flavor that caused the barf? I have enough chicken pates here for a small cat army lol.

Hi Tim and Pookey!
Beautiful numbers so far. Great start to the new year.
Glad to hear he's eating but please monitor and keep us posted.
Wishing you both a peaceful day.

Hi Tim, happy new year! I am sorry Pookey has been throwing up. Maybe there is something in this chicken flavour he can't digest anymore. So good he was eating something else. All fingers are crossed! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thanks Heike. I am definitely nervous, but maybe just being a helicopter pet owner :cat: Happy New Year!

Bell has had the same thing happen with the fancy feast chicken pates. Used to be her favorite, but now she is not interested in them and I have like 3 cases of them sitting around :rolleyes::rolleyes:. She is now on chicken/beef and beef/liver. This happened one time before and she ended up coming back to them eventually. I would wait a little bit and then try to reintroduce the chicken one. I wish she would eat some other brands, but I have had no luck so far. It is the only wet food I’ve been successful getting her to eat…

I think sometimes cats can get more picky when they are nauseous, and I have some ondansetron on hand for when that happens. It seems to really help Bell when she has an upset stomach. Might be something to ask your vet for a prescription for. They might try to give you Cerenia, which helps the vomiting more than the nausea, but I’ve had more luck with ondansetron.

Awesome feedback, thanks Seth! Sorry to hear that Bell had the same problem, but it is helpful to know this isn’t a unique issue. I’ll check with the vet about that med.
