Oh well. How about some onward and downward today.

Nice quiet day in Pollywood. More snow last night. Pretty. Polly's cuddled next to me on the couch occasionally mewing her I want food neowwww. The others are curled sleeping (and snoring, the dog) nearby. Nice morning.

Opened a new pen last night. Drumrollllllll. This last one lasted for 24 1/2 days! With some luck and a cooperative kitty, who knows. We may manage to ignore the 28 day expiration warning on the next pen! I so remember the days when I hoped we'd get 12 days out of a pen. Progress. I'll take it!

Are you actually tossing after the 28 days or is that how long a pen lasts? I have used mine to the last drop so far, anti-jinx.
 
No, no, no, Elise. I'm just excited that I may be able to actually go beyond the 28 days. Polly's been such a big gulper, we've been going through pens in 2 weeks or less. Going beyond 28 days as many LLer's do will be a huge accomplishment for us. And, I suck the last drop out of each pen.

Marilyn, I too am hopeful about possibly getting a pen prescription for our next refill!! We were going through a pen every 4 days...totally not worth the extra price. Lol.

I'm about to be on the search to see if anyone is selling the pens on Craigslist this week. I've found a few gems in the past.
 
This evening's start has potential. :cool: Think blue Polly.

I remember how exciting it was the first time to have to worry about whether the pen is still good cause I've used it so long. :) Lev pen/cartridges say 45 days.
 
Happy New Year Marilyn and Polly! ..hmm, kind of a weird cycle for Miss Polly- that +3 to +6 was nice though! Have you considered purchasing your pens from Mark's Pharmacy(Canada 5 pens = $133?)

Sounds like you and Polly had a great day cuddling with snow outside.

I think the pens will last longer than we all think. I just used all of mine and it had been 65 days. It is levemir which the company says is good for 42 days but I bet you can keep using yours until you see numbers go wonky.

Okay, Ms. Polly. You have examined every nook and cranny of the yellow floor. It's time you took your investigative talents to the blue floor. Take your time there, unless of course, you feel the lagoon calling! ;)

We just switched to pens and I'm excited to think we might actually run out of insulin before the pen is expired! It's nice to have options.
