First Monday of the New Year! Good morning, Everyone,

Rusty woke us up this morning with his face in our faces! He'd eaten all of his nighttime food and was raring to go. Good test (1st try: the BD lancets really are better), good shot (I was serenaded by the "Levemir Song" while I tried to find skin! He starts to protest even when I'm nowhere near him with the syringe!! I don't think the shots hurt him: it's the idea of the whole thing that annoys him). Breakfast was a combination of Wellness Turkey, Wellness Chicken, and By Nature 95% turkey & turkey liver. Then we had an energetic game with Big Bug and the Cube (amazing skills and strategies). Then Rusty "helped" us get the trash together to take to the dump later this morning. Now he is relaxing on his perch.
Colder here this morning (mid teens), but we haven't received any snow to replenish what we lost. This afternoon I'm off to Plattsburgh to return the ReliOn Ultima strips to the Walmart and get my refund (500 strips, from Stu's Ultima meter, should bring a pretty good refund). I'll also stop at the Petsmart for food and litter.
Everyone have a good day. We are thinking of Rocket and Claudia and hoping that they will be able to get to their regular vet today.

Ah The Preshot Serenade!! Moonie gives it to me as I am shooting & after!--Sounds like Rusty is really happy and is enjoying watching you sleep!
When he feels he has seen enough, he takes action! Quite the strategist that Rusty :lol: :lol: :lol:

Good morning guys .. definitely sounds like rusty has had quite the morning already .. so many things to do, so little time to do them .. hoping rusty surfs the day away in greens, hes so close! Have a great day guys!

Go Rusty! Quite the songster eh? Nice! Mannie is a purrer, not too much into the song thing. Is Rusty still singing while he sleeps?

Awww, Ella, I love hearing about Rusty's capers. I always have wondered what that Big Bug is. Maybe I'll Google it, and see what comes up.

Hi Phoebe,
Yep, that's "Big Bug" (my name for the "Cat Dancer" toy). I have to pick up another one this afternoon. This one was originally Stu's, and he loved it too (although he hadn't played with it in his last months). It is certainly seeing lots of "action" now.

Hi Ella and Rusty...

We have a "big bug" around here too. Well actually we have two. One with the cardboard things and one that lost the cardboards but we put a ribbon on the end instead. All my cats have been absolutely bonkers for them!

P.s. I got my refund (in CASH!) from Walmart when I returned the defective strips this afternoon. It took a while because the Walmart computer refused at first to accept returns of blood-related items, even though they were on the recall list. But they finally figured it out. I had 500 strips for the ReliOn Ultima!!
