Good morning. There's good news and bad news:
Milo: right as rain. Eating, active, peeing/pooping and BG all green yesterday (with a tiny threat of visiting the sharks at 49). I am assuming that no reduction would be required for this... I have to read and re-read the TR protocol. He's on cycle #7 after his last reduction to 1.5u

Bad news: Singha is acting like he did before his last round of antibiotics, of course when my vet is off. Some vomiting, not wanting to eat, lethargic and his BG spiked. Better today but still not eating; I'll have to syringe feed and I put him back on the emergency antibiotics. He will see the vet as soon as he's back on Tuesday. He is peeing/pooping though so I feel I can manage this. I have been doing spot-checks on BG and he was hovering in the greens after getting his teeth done and antibiotics for a week to deal with gingivitis (I haven't been great about documenting this as I was struggling to deal with his sick brother. Maybe that round of antibiotics wasn't long enough??? Maybe something in the food as both cats got sick? (though he tends to only eat the raw and Milo won't touch it). Blood work didn't point to anything amiss nor a urine stick test. I can't get keytones on this guy (I don't have a blood meter and never see when he uses the litter box.) I was thinking I should restart insulin but not with antibiotics in his system, he's coming down again on his own. Thoughts?

I’m glad Milo is better but sorry to hear about Singha I’d wait on restarting insulin since he was 106 this morning. See what others say.
Milo earned a reduction by dropping under 50. It’s far enough from the last reduction. I would take it if he were my cat.

I'm glad Milo is doing better. I agree with Elise. I'd take the reduction. I'm sorry to hear Singha is not feeling well. I hope he feels better soon. I wouldn't rush to restart insulin. Hopefully he won't need it. Sending prayers.

Thank you for this. I waited and sure enough, as the antibiotics are kicking in, his BG is coming down. It was hard to know whether BG was causing symptoms or vice versa but it definitely seems that antibiotics are helping so BG rise was, indeed, the result of something not right in his system.
Both cats are much better with Milo finishing antibiotics and Singha starting them. Seriously... what the heck?! I need them both to get better and give us all a health break for a while. The other good news is that Milo seems to do well with each reduction and he’s WAYYYYY down from his 3.75u this summer. That’s definitely a win!
Have a great night! I’m planning on sleeping thorough!
