Are the subq fluids because Eddie doesn't drink enough on his own?
You may recall the last time he was in emergency, which was when I got back from Calgary (around August 2), he was put on sub-q by the IM vet because he was dehydrated. I think as far as the DM is concerned, even though he was drinking quite a lot of water, it was not enough. Since he's been on sub-q, he doesn't drink as much water nor does he pee as much as before. That is, until this past week when the sub-q schedule got changed from every 2-3 days to 7 days. I could feel from his skin that he was not as hydrated as when he was getting sub-q more frequently. But this past week has been a bit of a gong show, especially around the 20th. I mean, maybe it's that, maybe it's not. Maybe it's more of the SRT. Maybe it's a full moon. Know what I mean? Anyway, today he had 100ml and I'll try for 5 days instead of 7.

I've never heard of a once a week only subq schedule before. I agree more often makes sense, as long as there aren't any heart issues.
