Today we did the same dose both AM and PM. So far, all numbers seem high. Higher than in a very long time.

We got some foods from the updated list and it's Dweez's birthday today so he had something different.

I am still cynical that some of these approved foods are actually low carb.

You didn't put your AMPS in the subject :D

AMPS are the last number to come down. Gizmo's are always high(er). Every morning it is like playing the slots - "come-on low number, low number" - lol.

It is called Dawn Phenomenon
All people have the “dawn phenomenon,” if they have diabetes or not.

The dawn phenomenon is a surge of hormones that the body produces daily in the early morning hours before you wake up.

People with diabetes don't have normal insulin responses to adjust for this, and may see their fasting glucose go up.

The rise in glucose is mostly because your body is making less insulin and more glucagon (a hormone that increases blood glucose) than it needs. The less insulin made by the pancreas, the more glucagon the pancreas makes as a result. Glucagon signals the liver to break down glycogen into glucose. This is why high fasting blood glucose levels are common in people with type 2.

Yes, finally. We may have to do more cycles though as he's getting a new monitor fitted in 2 days and that usually skews his numbers, from the stress.

We're also going away on Thursday for my birthday and are back on Tuesday but the last time they were in the cattery, even 2 units wasn't enough and 3 units also sometimes didn't do anything.

So there will be instability until early October. Blegh.

Still always high. Gone are the days of the greens and blues I'm afraid. No real nadir. Any nadirs last for only 30-60 minutes and then back up again.
