Zoe started at two units about a month ago. She started dropping so I decreased her to one unit. She doesn’t eat great because she has stomatitis . It’s not a severe case but it still affects her eating at times. So there’s been times when she has only received one unit once a day versus twice a day because she didn’t eat much or her BS wasn’t very high. When her BS was 200 or 220 I didn’t give her insulin. She drops too fast and I’m at work and can’t monitor her. I couldn’t get The Vet to give me an answer what to do when she’s consistently at 200. Over the weekend she didn’t get any insulin because she stayed at 200 or 220. they recommended giving her 1 unit. They aren’t the one staying up with her all night force feeding her and giving her honey. I’m trying a new vet on Friday. Wish me luck. I bought new syringes with half units. She’s still dropping too fast with a half unit. After her PM dose anywhere from +2 to +4 she’s really low. Last night she ate almost a whole can of fancy Feast and a little dry and still dropped really low. Do I go to .25 unit. I’m nervous about eyeballing that. Are there syringes with less than .5 unit measurements?

Because you're at work and unable to monitor I think it's safer to cut the dose to .25. Calipers are your best bet for doing that.
