09/07 Blue (early) AMPS 247 (pre-dental surgery, half dose) PMPS 207 (after all that!) We are HOME.

Good morning,
here is yesterday's story:

So, Blue has his dental surgery today. At 6:00 am, I gave him 2 good TBSPs + H20. At 7:00 am, I gave him a half dose insulin (1.75u).

I'm bringing him in for a 9:00 am appointment and if all goes well will be picking him up this afternoon for our drive back (4.5 hours) to the Okanagan.

Well, I'm back at the hotel until 1:00 check-out. Blue was admitted to the clinic and I really liked the vet, Angelica Bebel, which helped assuage the awful feeling I had leaving him there. She was great at explaining the procedure and thought it might take between 2-3 hours. Then, I'm hoping to pick him up and head back over the mountains to home.

I just got home @ 8:45!! Epic day. Will post details but for now, we are home and Blue has already eaten. It's late for PMPS but after all that only 207. I gave half dose again because it's so late. Is it ok to give full dose (3.50u) in the morning?
OMG am I ever tired.

I am so happy that he has eaten already. I thought he'd probably be feeling good from meds and as happy as you are to be home.

Shouldn't be any reason not to stick with 3.5 units for now. Waiting on the details.... but any extractions can mean inflammation temporarily and higher numbers as a result until healing is done.
